'14 TN DE/TE Derek Barnett (UT Signee 2/5/14)

Just from following his recruitment, Derek has always seemed the strong, silent type. I know I'd be sick of all the calls, especially long after I made my commitment and was visiting my future school officially...the calls would just seem totally unnecessary. I might go as far as saying they put a cloud over his official with all of the chatter. Hope that wasn't the case.

Either way, I am super pumped about DB. Strong as an ox, plays with a mean streak that we have been seriously lacking, and is all business - none of this prima donna fanfare we have seen with others (*cough Adoree' cough*).

Best of luck to you during your time in Big Orange Country, Derek. We are all rooting for you and are glad you are a VFL!

As for Barnett, his silence is a bit more interesting. He's yet to publicly rule out any visits and while some close to him believe there's a greater chance he stays at home this weekend and visits nowhere, the possibility still has not been ruled out so we will continue to monitor that situation throughout the week.

Jones and several assistants are expected to meet with Barnett on Thursday and there may not be a final answer until after that meeting on whether or not Barnett takes another official visit.

Jones will fully shut this down Thursday.

Do not be surprised if Thomas cancels his visit and flips in the next 2 days, IMO.

That's the rule of thumb. The snow in my yard is free of that yellow for now until someone let's their dog in my yard.:blink:

I've been following recruiting for 13 years (which is quite a bit less than some of the other posters here).

One consistent feature of every year is the lunacy that overtakes many in the final stretch. The last four weeks can be just a bit to much for them to handle.

Here's looking forward again to the calm that follows NSD.

I check the recruiting thread 5 to 6 times a day.i pray to god he's right, but when he's wrong you guys will be the first people to go look up his post and say I knew he was lying.
