'14 TN RB/DB Daryl Rollins

Between Hurd and Paulk I think we should be okay. That being said I wish we could pick Rollins up. It would suck to see him go somewhere else and be a stud.

Byron marshall is a far better rb than black mamba.

Mamba has no wiggle or shake. Hes fast as all get out but his rb skills are lacking.

What you smoking Willis? He has no wiggle or shake? He single handling makes every team find ways to not allow him to field kicks. The kid can line up anywhere on the offense other then QB, TE, and OL. He's not called the Mamba for nothing. He's an extremely aggressive runner who gets in and out of his cuts as good as anyone I've ever seen run in the last 10 years. Now, I may agree hes no pure RB in terms of I-Form sets up the middle with a FB, but with a team like the Broncos or Pats he'd dominate. He has the ability to make a 2 yard screen pass into a 80 yard TD. His ability to catch, run, and blow by people pretty much forces defenses to man cover him every time he's on the field. I think of him as a better between the T RB the Reggie Bush.

 people have no clue what they are watching on Saturdays. None!

Im smoking but Mamba is "a better between tackle RB than Reggie Bush"

The next time you see Mamba shake a defender will be the first time.

Your posts as of late have me wondering what YOU'VE been watching on Saturdays. No offense brother. You just seem a little off lately. Thomas is one of, if not THE most elusive player in college football. Having "shake" ability doesn't change that. Not sure who you're referring to with the Reggie Bush comment.

He's referring to Keck. And often people confuse fast with elusive. Two completely different aspects. I'm with Jay. Thomas can FLY but has as much shake (or as little) as Raijon

Having straight line speed and out-running people does not equate to elusiveness.

Jesus Lord help us out.

Kick returns also do not equate to being a better RB.

Lemme guess, Espn hype has you all thinking Mamba is a better Rb than Lache Seastrunk too? ...

There's a reason Mamba lines up out wide more than in the backfield

Great running backs have the ability to make tacklers miss within a 2 yard window. Not just some guy chasing him Down on an angle.

Some are blessed with feet that can start/stop on a dime. Some can change direction and be back to top speed in a stride or two

a lot of Gus have to gather themselves, pitter pat their steps to change direction.
Example.
Cp can stop and cut on a dime.
Black Mamba can not.

Mamba never runs behind his pads.
Next time you see him as the ball carrier on 3rd and 1 up the gut will be his first carry in that situation

Ok. Ive said my peace.
Back to Rollins and hoping he gets an offer from our Vols.

Oregon-type back, yes. Talent on the same level, does not look like it. If he was on the same level of talent as Thomas for Oregon he would have at least a few good offers. He has only very low level offers.

No one, including myself, is comparing this kid to D Thomas. Sheeesh....

Shake does not equal elusive either. I agree that Thomas is not a between the tackles runner and probably doesn't have a whole lot of wiggle. But to say that he is not elusive is kind of ridiculous. He is great at changing speeds and using his size behind his blockers in space. Speed is part of elusive.

Thomas is not as straight line as he's being made out to be. He uses his speed more than his cutting ability because hell he can. Is he a between the tackles runner? No. But he is elusive and I'll post a highlight video to show that when I get home. He has great vision and patience too,". It allows him to rip off huge yards without being touched.

CJ Spiller would beat Lesean McCoy in a ran 10/10 times... Who do you want as your back? Shady is the most elusive back in the league while running a 4.5

I didn't say it was the entire package. But, speed plays a part in being elusive. The definition of elusive is "difficult to find or catch." If a guy is slow, he ain't elusive. What you are saying is that the mixture of speed and wiggle is being elusive. 4.5 is not slow. That, I agree with.

Grey Shirt? Similar to the Swafford situation last yr? Local Kid grew up less than 2 miles from Neyland Stadium.. Would be an "Instant Commit"

I think it's understandable if we don't offer. If we don't get him I hope he tears it up somewhere.

This kid is a much better athlete, IMO, than some of the other guys we were looking at during the summer when we all thought that taking a 3rd RB was a real possibility. That's JMO.
