'14 TN RB/DB Daryl Rollins

Greer ran a 4.37 at his pro day, which was his fastest time. So that should give you an idea of this kid's speed.

I've been saying offer for months now, I know their is more to the game than speed but this kid can fly. Seems to be pretty good player, and we do have the best coaching staff in the nation, so this kid could be a killer DB, or at least return man.

Where you going to play him?

Incredible speed, but he is not big enough to play RB and maybe even DB.

This kid is a DB, and a QUICK one.

I've been saying it, and I'll keep saying it: "GET THIS GUY AN OFFER."

Rollins ran a 4.41 electronic back in March at the Atlanta Nike Combine. Fastest out of almost 1,700 kids. He also had the fastest shuttle and the best SPARQ rating. If he has worked hard on technique and form it is not a stretch for him to have shaved off 8/100's of a second.

Sounds like if the kid can show the coaches he can play some DB an offer may be coming.

It's a little more complicated than that when you have guys like Gaulden, McDowell, DJ Smith, Wesley Green, and possibly one of the Berry brother who are high on the Vols and elite athletes. Then a guy like Rollins, who comes a little later in the recruiting process due to a breakout year last yr, who would probably be a 100% certainty to commit to Tennessee at this point since he doesn't have any other serious D1 offers. I have read that Chavis at LSU has been by Fulton several times and really likes the kid. GTech, Clemson and FSU were also showing interest a few months ago. Last year was his break out year and really wasn't even on the coaches radar before that. He really does have true 4.4 speed though I think a "lasered 4.3" is a bit of a stretch. That type of speed is incredibly rare.

Shows you how the HS camps time faster than the other places. Jabari ran 4.31 and 4.29 in camp here and a 4.28 at ND's camp. Pete Cordelli said he thought ND was going to get him before anyone heard about him but after the UT camp he said he called ND and told them they were going to be out of luck. For those who remember Pete he was on Lou's staff and then at Ole MIss. He was on Sports 56 in Memphis for quite a while. He would not have been considered a fan of UT football to say the least.

Just spoke with Fulton coach Rob Black. Running Back Daryl Rollins ran 4.33 and 4.40 while WR Xavier Hawkins ran 4.40 and 4.44 at TN camp.

Not to me it's not. If the kid has SEC speed and shows SEC cover skills, I say take him. Just because he does not have the "stars" next to his name the others do does not mean he can't prove people wrong at camp. McDowell is a S anyway. Green, Smith, and McDowell could end up Vols and they may not. If the kid is showing out and ready to commit now, I say lock him up and brick #16 is on the table. JMO

So the qualifications are, if he has SEC speed and some cover skills, you take him? I'm not worried about the stars more than I am the lack of offers. Was just saying it's a tougher decision than you are making it out to be, because you are gambling with a late riser who has limited experience at the position and would be an almost certain commit VS keeping with other athletes who are high on TN, have multiple SEC offers and have proven themselves at that position.

Agree to disagree. :)
