Stash him away because he needed a redshirt year anyways. You also want him to still sign this year so he an get into a rehab program with college trainers and their strength and conditioning coach. Not knocking high school trainers and all, but you want him to be working with professionals and SEC football programs employ those professionals. Chances increase that he can can fully recover if he can immediately get to work
with college trainers and strength coaches.
Plus you get to teach him your system
If it is a tib/fib break, he will be out for some time. That is a nasty break, always requires surgery. They are so rare in sports (Prothro, Theisman), as usually the knee or ankle absorbs the damage. These breaks are usually reserved for significant trauma like car wrecks.
