"I have been up there twice," Anderson said. "I went up there for a spring practice and talked to all the defensive coaches. (Tennessee linebackers) coach (Tommy) Thigpen and I stay in touch. I give him a call every once and a while. Then I was there for the Orange & White game. That was really cool. They had the music playing and there was just a lot of excitement."

"I like to play the game smarter than people," he told IT. "I may not be the biggest guy out there, but I really like to get down when it comes to film. I like to play fast and play fundamental football. I want to get the little things right. I want to get my read steps right and do the little things to improve my game."

During his time at Tennessee, Anderson has gotten to know Thigpen well and even got to sit in on a linebackers meeting with the likes of current Vol 'backers A.J. Johnson and Curt Maggitt.

"I got to sit in on one of the linebacker meetings at Tennessee," he said. "That was my first college meeting I got to sit in on and it was really interesting. It was fast-paced and they really get after it. I really liked that."

"Alabama offered me today," Anderson said. "I talked to Coach Saban. That's how he did it. He was just talking about Alabama and everything they are about. They came to practice two weeks ago. He talked about how excited they were about me. It was pretty awesome.

The 6-foot-1, 215-pound prospect also has an offer from another SEC program. "I have an offer from Tennessee," Anderson said. "They offered me about two months ago. Tennessee was awesome. It was my first time talking to Coach Jones. It was a dream come true to get my first offer from an SEC school. "I went to a practice and their spring game. The spring game was fun. There is a lot of excitement at Tennessee. Tennessee and Alabama known for tradition. I met Coach Jones and met all the coaches. A lot of excitement. My brother [Carson Anderson] played for Tennessee. I know a lot about Tennessee. I know coaches who have been there. Coach Jones is getting the program turned around."

"I am being recruited as an outside linebacker and safety kind of like Vinnie Sunseri," he said.

Vol lock! His HS coach is former Prattville coach Jamie DuBose. I know for a fact about Saban coming into his office in Prattville and when CJD got up from his desk to greet him; Napoleon walked past him and took a seat at his desk and started rifling thru his paperwork. CJD held his cool but I would have promptly ejected his arrogant azz! If CBJ builds half a relationship with CJD...it's over.

Why would he be rifling through his paperwork??

Kid seems to be real interested in Bama, I hope the orange blood wins out. Surely Dad and Bro will be on him about UT And Bama being our most hated Rival.

-well spoken kid

-mainly talked about UT and Bama

-brother played at UT, uncle played at Bama

-huge fan of Chavis at LSU

-said he would be attending more than one game to UT this fall

-said not much difference between UA and UT... Top notch facilities, tradition, and education.

-his HS coaches are huge Bama fans

-top 2 of UT and UA... From the video, I give UA the slight edge

I understand that Bama can be somewhat of a threat because of what they have accomplished the last 5 years, but there is no way that UT is not the favorite. No way. His uncle helps fund our facilities and is a huge alum. I mean, someone who was probably approached when we were hiring our coach. Don't care who his coaches root for or what state he lives in. JMO.

Agree 100% that would be like one of the Haslams playing for Bama or Lsu. His family has given

millions to UT.He also look

s like a player.

...my gut tells me that the Vols have the inside track regardless if he says his family ties to Tenn will not play a part of his decision.

He just had this smile about him when talking about Tenn that he did not have with the other schools.

6. LB KEATON ANDERSON, FLORENCE, ALA. (2015)
Anderson isn't the biggest linebacker, and his listed size of 6-1 and 215 pounds appears to be a bit generous. However, he can turn and run, that's for sure. He is very fluid in his movements, he has loose hips, and he is very quick for a linebacker. On many plays, he was running stride for stride with running backs and disrupting plays way downfield. When the play was in front of him, he rarely took a false step. He needs to add size and strength, but he is very athletic.

“tennessee is not in front because of my what my family’s done or them playing there or anything like that, so it’s really going to be down to whoever shows me the most love, just like, really, any other recruit. It’s 100-percent open, and i’m not just going to say, ‘oh, yeah, my dad and my uncle or my brother played there, so i’m going to play there, too.’

“it’s going to be, i’ve got to feel right there. I’ve got to like what’s happening, and i’ve got to sit down with my family and discuss it with them. It’s definitely not a lock (for tennessee) at all, and it’s 100-percent open to anybody, really.”

“i had two uncles that went to school at alabama, so my family’s not all tennessee,” keaton anderson said. “i have some uncles that want me to go to alabama, and then i have my other uncle that wants me to go to tennessee. But they’re all open. Wherever i’m happy, they’re happy with, so it’s not going to be like, ‘keaton, if you don’t go there, it’s done. You’re not in the family anymore.’

“it’s nothing like that. It’s all fun.”

Also, for those who don't know, Keaton's brother has been in the program for the past five years. He has an offer from UT (his first) and an offer from Bama. He states that the program is completely different since CBJ and staff have come to UT compared to Kiffin and Dooley.

He noted that it's "a lot more fun," and CBJ is a nice, personable person who knows how to talk to recruits. He said he can tell that the coaches and players are a lot more "bought-in" to what he's doing compared to the last two guys. Surprise.
