'15 CA QB Sheriron Jones (UT Signee 2/4/15)

Another player that's had a good week at an all-star game is quarterback Sheriron Jones. The California signal-caller has been mostly focussed on Tennessee since de-committing from Florida and it's safe to call Tennessee the leader and at this point he seems destined to be a Vol. The question may be more of when, and with an official visit scheduled for Jan. 16 don't be surprised if something happens around that date.

Dual Threat guy with a strong arm. Reminds me a lot of Dobbs.

Eh, Dobbs struggles with accuracy consistency. Jones is a sharp passer and much faster. He has a much better natural skill set than Dobbs, but Dobbs is ingelligent enough to digest so much information that he has a bit if a curve on understanding defenses.

If you had to compare him to someone who would it be

Not sure about that. Scouting reports say he's a strider albeit a shifty one but not especially fast (4.6-4.7 range). Jones ran a 4.71 at a Nike camp last September. Dobbs is faster then he looks. I would say they are pretty equal.

Couple of things here:

1 - of you don't have a QB with some wheels, you're losing at college football. All four playoff teams had QBs that can run if needed.

2 - this might be my favorite QB of this class, if the newest reports do pan out and he's a vol. He's got the legs to make plays, but I really like his arm. It's not overly strong (still above avg imo) but is very accurate. A lot of that is attributed to his mechanics. His footwork and throwing motion, I think, are the most sound of our 2014 QBs.

3 - dobbs plays 2015, QD is backup, redshirt SJ and JJ, or move JJ to safety (or a similar combination of those depending on spring performance). Then with Kendall coming in, there's a large spread of QB experience levels and we finally have high caliber QBs waiting in the wings.

Cabbage is also tradition. Fat back, cabbage, black eyed peas, corn bread. I think greens are the more popular choice but cabbage is old school.

This guy can smell what's cooking. It's a once a year thing for me though. My Cali wife eats good southern food once a year while I eat her Indian food twice a week.

I'm getting screwed in that exchange.

Try having a vegetarian wife...I started losing weight until I realized you cou cook damn near anything without meat, cook meat separately in another pan or over fire, and add it once you've plated your meal without losing all the flavor. And who knew that if you grill a steak and cut it up, that you can literally eat that on anything and it's better. Think of the possibilities!

Quickness may be deceptive w both, but Jones does have a better arm and is more accurate. Dobbs still has inconsistency problems in practice, like.. Every practice. On throws where he should be 10-10 he's 7-10 and Butch said he needs to improve that. Those are throws that Jones can make with ease from watching his vids and elite 11 work.
