He was one of the guys in the top tier. So many teams already have their quarterbacks at this time of the year that they don't have room for another or don't want to risk the guy they have bolting.

I think in the end they likely end up pushing for Jones and if so, it's hard to see him not being a Vol.

I think if he does in fact commit to us then i think we'll move jennings to another position, Jones just looks smoother at quarterback than jennings. I think the quarterback competition this spring is going to be much tighter than most expect, i wouldnt chalk dobbs up for being opening starter just yet. CBJ is going to put the best product on the field. I think this guy may have a better arm then dobbs and about the same legs as dobbs. Dormady on the other hand has a better arm than both but the legs not so much. Dormady reminds me alot of bray and thats definitely not a bad thing. GO VOLS

I never said dobbs wouldn't start, 99% likely he will. I was just saying what if one of the new guys showed out and it was a tough decision. If Jones or Dormady are tearing it up in the spring and dobbs is struggling i dont think CBJ will think twice about starting the best player. Thats one thing i like about CBJ is that he plays to win not to keep players happy thats for sure. It would be foolish to rule out anybody on any position right now. I personally think Jones will be better than dobbs because dobbs arm isnt all that great. Just saying.. Could be a lot more interesting competition then anticipated

In practice he wasn't, on the field he was. I still believe Worley is a better passer than dobbs. If we find a team that contains dobbs were pretty much screwed because dobbs arm isnt anything special at all. Be realistic. 75% of his passes are screens. Has alot of high passes over receivers head's. His deep ball is almost non existent. Dont get me wrong, i think he is a pretty good quarterback, but if we have someone who could throw alot better and scramble just as good then of course i would start them over dobbs.

I think Dobbs down the field passing will be much improved next year. This kid looked night and day different than last year. I think we will seee another major improvement this offseason.

I agree that Dobbs can improve in multiple phases of the game. Rather than that causing me concern or wondering whether a true freshman will overtake Dobbs, it makes me even more excited for next season. I think heading into the spring as the starter is going to assist in improving Dobbs' accuracy, his timing with the WRs, etc. Dobbs has been a good QB without being able to hit many deep balls, etc., and I cannot wait to see the product on the field when he improves in a few areas. Plus, getting North, Croom, and Smith back is going to help a lot too since he still played well enough with Pig and two true freshmen in Malone and Wolf.

Such a stupid thing to say. There will be a QB competition. A competition that nobody knows who will win. Not even Jones or Bajakian. There is tons of physical and mental development that they will go through once they get on campus. How much each one will or will not develop will be seen.
