Except if he’s like Keller Chryst and hits a depth chart he can’t compete on. Not saying that’s what Maryland has, but I know it’s what Tennessee has. Plus he’d let us get a couple of needed redshirts.Yeah most likely. Gets to go back home and play in a scheme he's familiar with. Dream scenario for a grad transfer.
Keller also had the unfortunate luck of playing a position that only one guy can start at. Pettibon might be Maryland's 3rd or 5th best lineman (idk, not super knowledgable on their line) but he would still see the field.Except if he’s like Keller Chryst and hits a depth chart he can’t compete on. Thoughts on him as a player?Alabama OL Richie Petitbon plans to transfer after season (247-BOL)
Alabama is expected to see at least one offensive lineman transfer after the season.
Redshirt junior Richie Petitbon plans to transfer after the Crimson Tide's 2018 campaign ends, BamaOnLine has learned. Graduating in May, he will be immediately eligible as a graduate transfer.
AL.com's Matt Zenitz was first to report the future transfer.
Redshirting in 2015, Petitbon saw action in one game in 2016 after tearing his ACL in April. He returned to full health and practiced at all five positions along the offensive line throughout his career. Petitbon saw the field for Alabama as a reserve offensive lineman in six games this fall.
Petitbon was the No. 1 player in Washington D.C. in the 2015 recruiting cycle, as well as the No. 5 offensive guard and No. 62 overall prospect, according to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite.
The Annapolis, Md., native brought an NFL pedigree to UA as the grandson of four-time NFL Pro Bowl safety of the same name, while his father, Richie, played collegiately at Maryland. With offensive coordinator Mike Locksley set to coach the Terps next year, Maryland is a possibility.
THIS STORY WILL BE UPDATED.
Was he the one Kmac punked in a one on one camp thing then got up and yelled "go bama"?
Agreed - I totally expected him to be an instant impact player. He robbed me of my ability to get excited about any recruit contributing as a freshman....I'm now a wait and see it first type.I think so. I really don't know what happened to Kmac. It's baffling. He dominated at big time events and camps like the opening. The guy was schooling the highest rated OL like they were nothing. Then in college well that's a whole different story.
Ya'll give a lot of crap to a 320 lb 1 tech NT when 90% his job is occupy double teams and let LBs make plays. When Kmac played at least 3rd and 1 or 2 wasn't automatic right up the gutAgreed - I totally expected him to be an instant impact player.
