'15 DE GA Andrew Butcher (UT Commit 6/8/13)

Just another day at the office....

"With Tennessee defensive line coach Steve Stripling in attendance, Butcher racked up six tackles, a pair of sacks, three tackles for loss and a forced fumble Friday night — all in the first half — in Alpharetta’s 52-3 victory over Habersham Central High School of Mt. Airy, Ga."

52-3.... yikes

I think Butcher is the best DE in our class this year. Kid will not be out worked. Explosive.

I'd like to see film of him reacting to a TE or RB chip. Also, holding the edge. His inside swim move is deadly though.

I'm just glad that most of the Dlinemen commits we have are known as high effort guys that dont take plays off.

I love watching this young man play football...non stop, relentless, hard hitting, and a take no prisoners approach...I'll allow it...

its going to be fun watching these young guys on the DL the next few years...it seems they all "get after it" with a passion on the field that we haven't seen(besides this year, thank goodness) since the late 90's and early 2000's

With all of the defensive studs filing in, I could very well see UT mirroring LSU's style of play over the last 10 years. With that said, our running game is nowhere near where it needs to be. I love our defensive play this year, and with guys like Butcher coming on board, it's only going to improve.

Does he project more at LB, because he looks small for a DE. Yes I know they can put weight on him, but his frame does not look to add that much "good weight" imo.

He's at 250-255 right now. That is plenty big enough to play his position.

WDE all the way.

Our defensive recruiting is just sick. Nothing against the O it's good too. The defensive recruiting is just unfair. I expect a new NCAA rule to prevent this in the future.

Some people have it, some don't. Andrew has it and I am glad he is bringing it to the hill. No position changes VN. Not necessary or desired.

He will be susceptible to the zone read, stretch and traps due to his explosiveness, but Stripling will coach him up.

"Butcher went for 11 tackles, one sack, one tackle for loss and a forced fumble in Alpharetta's 39-0 win over Centennial as he finally feels healthy again after an AC Joint sprain."
