"It's going to be a great experience getting this honor," Butcher, the No. 183 ranked player in the class, said. "It's something I've been working for and hoping for, this great opportunity and it's finally here."
The 6-foot-2, 250-pound defensive end that's committed to play at the University of Tennessee knew even earlier than seventh grade he wanted to play on football on a big stage.
Butcher admits he's been eyeing playing football on a big stage since he was a young child and his first step on that stage will be in Tampa, Fla. in the game.
"It's been an extreme (amount of) work," Butcher explained. "I've been working ever since I was a little kid to play college football. That has been my dream since preschool. I've been training since I was a very young kid and now I'm seeing all the hard work pay off."
The Under Armour All-American Game has become the nation's premier game when it comes to high school all-star games and even though Butcher still has to finish out his senior season at Alpharetta High School he's looking forward to putting his skills to the test against the best in the nation.
"I'm just excited about being around the top talent and playing against other big-tme guys because at my high school it's not like I'm going against big-time offensive linemen every single day. It will be a great challenge and I will be able to push myself to see how good I really am."
Through two games Butcher already has 14 total tackles and 3.5 sacks.
