"My first visit to Tennessee opened my eyes to the Vols," Butcher said. "The second visit made me feel like I was at home and I knew then that I wanted to be a Vol."
"It was extremely exciting," Butcher said. "I have been waiting to tell coach Jones for a long time and it feels great. The family tradition in the program. The tradition of the school. The great fanbase and my closeness to the staff are reasons why I'm a Vol. It's hard to describe. Tennessee didn't really sell me on anything. They are a program on the rise and that's obvious by what they are doing with the current signing class. But the biggest thing about Tennessee is that they are real. They are just who they are and they aren't selling you anything."
"I have been practicing with Constantin Ritzmann and he's been helping me with my pass rush," Butcher said. "I feel like that area of my game is really improving and I'm anxious to put it to work this fall." "I feel like I'm a lot stronger and I actually feel like I'm quicker," Butcher said. "My body is just really maturing and I have been focused on putting on good weight."
Saturday, Butcher and his entire family including his grandfather, his sister who attends Ole Miss as well as his parents, his girlfriend and his uncle spent the day talking in all the sights on Rocky Top touring facilities and visiting with coaches. Saturday night they are capping off the day with a family celebration dinner on the banks of Tennessee river in the shadows of Butcher's future home, Neyland Stadium.
