'15 DE GA Andrew Butcher (UT Commit 6/8/13)

JJ Watt over here pissing himself silly reading this comment..

Alright, so two things here:

First off, white65 made a pretty idiotic comment. "Too white" to be a speed rusher? Connor Barwin, Jason Babin, Ryan Kerrigan, and Clay Matthews are all pretty white.

Secondly, I'm not sure I would consider J.J. Watt a speed rusher.

You forgot one of the best pass rushers over the last 5 years or so...Allen.

I thought the chop block was BS, and glad there was no injury. In the game the DE's were not allowed to slant inside, and holding wasn't a penalty in the game. Those things made it hard on the DE's. But he got a taste of the speed and talent on the next level. Marques Ford did well, and he and Andrew made great friends thru the week. With who we have committed in this class, the UT defense is going to be NASTY!

I guess no one has a sense of humor anymore. I can make jokes about white people being slow. I'm white. Kinda like how blacking people can use the N word and keep it around instead of letting it die out.

I like Butcher I think hes gonna develop into a SDE with speed.

We are stocking speed every where, our DT's will have the Speed of SDE's soon. Butcher is fast but were bringing in faster players to be pure speed rushers.

All of these facts are why phillips was so impressive.

Thanks for the input.

When I first read the restrictions I was upset, but after second thought, it's probably good for these all star games. I heard in the Aaa game no blitzing was allowed... We just have to know to be careful to judge linemen in these games. The week of practice is where to see who's who...

I would say that Andrew will have another shot at Richmond but Ole Miss isn't on the schedule any time soon and they sure as hell aren't gonna make it to the SEC championship to face us.

Your son and a few other guys have laid the foundation for this class. Superior talent and leader. Tell him I said thanks from Florida!

My bad. I missed the joke.

I went back and read the first few pages of this thread. It is funny how nervous so many were that Andrew would flip to Clemson, right after he had committed to us. Now, here we are 1.5 years later and the young man will be here on campus today, ready to help lead us back to dominance. Quality young man, family, and going to be a very good player for us.

Those who seemed to be worried about Clemson didn't know much about the history of the family. He father did play at Clemson, but the rest of his family have Tennessee ties going back for years. when Andrew committed to Tennessee, I had no question that he would be a VFL. I can't wait for him to hit the field for our VOLs.

As in, might reconsider?

It isn't likely. But, for transferring it is in his best interest to be academically eligible to finish out his full freshman year before transferring, which is what he's doing. Coaching staff and players are still going to try and use that time to get him to stay, because he still has great potential. Just isn't likely to stay, as of now

I says let him go. I don't want him using our spring practice to get better for someone else.

WTF are you talking about in the Butcher thread?

If you look up higher in the thread they talk about his number maybe being number 8 ( Hendrix old number) and people commented that he might not have left yet so I just brought up the question if he does transfer does Butch have a say where. Enough of an explanation for Ya ?

I'm pretty sure it's just 1 year

That's the standard transfer rule, I thought it was two within the conference. It used to be, maybe they changed it.

Edit: I looked it up, it is just one year now. If Butch doesn't release him, he can't go on scholarship for two semesters.
