'15 FL DE Marques Ford (FORMER UT commit)

Maybe it's just me, but I could not care less for Rivals. I don't know why I feel that way, but I have for a while.

Yea, they seem to be a bit stubborn from time to time when it comes to fixing mistakes. But I like their website layout better than any other site and they have been around the longest. They aren't as good as they were before yahoo. I guess I'm just used to them.

Ranked by Scout.com as Florida's 5th-best DL prospect:

The Vols got a really good one here. Ford is a very athletic, long and speed edge guy from East Bay in the Tampa Bay area. He's a tad small now but has the frame to bulk up and add weight. Ford can attack the outside with his speed and get after the quarterback. He can play in space. I think he will remind many of Curt Maggitt at the same stage.

"Ford had a sack in East Bay's season-opening loss to Lennard as the Indians fell 28-7. Ford also recorded several quarterback hurries and forced the quarterback into making a bad throw that led to an interception."

Ford, Austin Smith, and Picou are the dark horses of our 2015 class. All three will be huge players for us on defense.

After Sundays game I have to believe Jones and his staff know a thing or two about d line talent. Looking forward to this guy wearing the orange.

East Bay coach Frank LaRosa can go on and on when speaking about Marques Ford’s best qualities as a football player.

“His work ethic is second to none,” he said. “He’s ultra competitive. He’s laser focused on winning and he’s very intelligent and cerebral. He’s a leader, he’s a high-motor guy and he’s twitchy.”

To talk to LaRosa about Ford’s abilities as a dominant defensive end would require another half hour.

While Tennessee is looking for a few Florida defensive ends the University of Florida is looking at one of Tennessee's defensive ends as the Gators are expected to scout Marques Ford in one of the next few games.
