'15 FL DT CeCe Jefferson

UTs 2013 class was 4 4*'s, 18 3*'s, and a 2*. Of those 23, 8 are no longer with the program.

UFs 2015 class is 2 5*'s, 3 4*'s, and 16 3*'s.

This is using 247 composite. Imo, Jim did very well all things considered.

Agree. Lookout next year. That is when he should start pulling the talent again. My guess is he will do very well.

no he didn't. he did HORRIBLE. you can't compare Florida to Tennessee. Florida has such a bigger advantage when it comes to home grown talent. Martez Ivey said his decision to go to Florida had nothing to do with McElweign. CeCe the same. They lost Holland and Cowart who were quoted as saying they always dreamed about going to Florida.

It was really bad for Jim when put in the context of him being at Florida rather than any other school.

Lmao.

UT has some advantage as well.

No other instate school to compete with.

CBJ has benefited from legacy and Tennessee producing its best talent in decades.

Higest recruiting budget and top facilities.

You cant take **** all you like but not name one talking head who's said anything negative about CJM first class. Except for not being its normal standard.

You are clueless on Holland and Cowart.

New staff didn't care for Holland in GC system. Same system that Pruitts runs. Coincidence that FSU or Ga didnt bother recruiting him?

(Florida’s new coaching staff) really didn’t try to recruit me as much as the old coaching staff did,” Holland told the radio station. “They recruited me in late December, but after that they didn’t reach out to me.”

Cowart was following Muschump once his mother signed off.

LOOOOOL.

McGriff was handed to you. Enjoy your meaningless class-ranking fluff because that kid isn't qualifying.

"Flipped him weeks ago"...:thud:

Example A dated 1/27/15

Blake- Re: D'Anfernee McGriff Note.... Reply
Followed up with another source in the Tallahassee area this morning. Just told me that Florida is in very good shape here for a flip despite what McGriff is saying. Also hearing that there are some academic concerns here as well. Not sure how severe but would think they can't be too drastic if UF is perusing as hard as they are.

Two days laterJacquez Green confirmed said McGriff committed to staff. Green coaches his 7 on 7 team.

Mac knew he was getting Scarlett, Cronkite and McGriff the weekend of their OVs.

Looks to me like UF has the same problem they have had the last few years. Not signing enough top offensive talent.

Let's be honest uf has two guys that are gonna be really good. One if Cece decides to go elsewhere. The four stars uf signed are pretty low four stars and could be studs or could do nothing. The truth is no matter how florida fans try to spin it that class is awful for a florida class and really a sec class. I havent seen a class that bad from the gators in my lifetime.

Zook's first class was awful.

Dorian Munroe and Jon Demps were the headliners.

Scarlett
Zuniga
Williams
Fredick Johnson

Will be household names before they leave UF.

Looks like Jefferson was at the UK game last night.

Leo told 247Sports' Luke Stampini on Sunday that Florida will receive CeCe's letter Monday or Tuesday, with Stampini reporting other sources indicated it could arrive as early as late Sunday.

Leo's support would appear to remove the final hurdle to Jefferson officially signing for the Gators, with CeCe having consistently tweeted his assurances he would join the Gators when all was said and done and delivered this update late Saturday:

Im a Gator and my LOI will be turned in soon,my dad and coach Collins had a long talk today.

Soon means tonight, tomorrow, or the next day....or possibly the next day.

UPDATE 4:22pm: Multiple sources have confirmed to me that Cece’s LOI is in. The timing of the official announcement from UF is not yet known, but the sources have each said that it will probably be in sometime tomorrow. To no one’s surprise, his mother was the one who signed it. Here’s what I’ve been told. Cece went to the game last night with no LOI in hand. He enjoyed the game as a fan. But at some point after the game, he must have slipped into the athletic offices and gotten a new one, which he took home with him, quietly gave to his mother to sign, and then faxed it in sometime this morning/afternoon. There are still some details missing- how many LOI’s UF had to send the Jefferson’s, how his mother went behind his father’s back to sign it, and how it got faxed in without his father knowing- but those details are irrelevant at this point. All that we’re waiting for now is the statement from UF, and we can raise the Mission Accomplished

Erryyybody got sources

I bet they won't be household names.

Maybe not nationally but they'll be SEC names.
Scarlett is already known. Kid had 35 legit offets from the likes of FSU, Bama and SoCal.

Williamson will be like Sutton. People around the SEC will know his name quickly.

With JC Jackson moving to O. He'll have a chance to unseat Maye at NB.

Johnson will be a stud at OT. Cant teach 6'7 and his foot speed.

Zungia trains with Chuck Smith. CS said he has the tools to play on Sundays. Watch his tape and forget the 3/4* part. The rivals guys have said they underrated him bc tape was released so late.

So Scarlett, Croknite and McGriff are crap lmao

Mac had one month to build a class.

Impressive to nab 15 recruits he had basically no previous relationship with.

So what if he took a couple of 2*.

Most transition classes are filled with 3* types with a handful of Top 250 kids.

He closed a lot better than I thought he would. I'm not afraid to admit that. It's funny how quickly people forget how Butch closed in his first class. These guys have very little time to form relationships that other coaches have had at least a year to form, very little time to make up a lot of ground.

Funny thing is UF fans are pretty satisfied with this class. Missing on Cowart is the main issue moat have. Im ok with BC following Muschamp. My biggest concern is WR and LB. Need 4 of each next cycle.

People get so hung up on stars they forget that sometimes those 3*'s shine up real nice. UT has had many 3*'s turn into studs, so who's to say UF won't get some players like that out of this class? Sad that so many of my fellow Vol fans feel the need to thump their chests over having a better recruiting class than UF. I'm holding off on the chest thumping until we beat 'em where it counts, on the field.

Per VQ, UT is making a push. Cece has scheduled a visit for next weekend. Both of his parents will be joining him.

Although recruiting is a numbers only game the real champions should be the teams that go into other states and pull out major recruits. I don't agree with HG or other people that say Florida finished amazing when they had 2 major recruits who were "Florida dream school" kids. A kid like Scarlett or McGriff might have been dream school kids or looking at a depth chart at a previous school and thought better but I would like them to get a top kid in Alabama, or out recruit Franklin in Pennsylvania or get a top 10 kid in Texas, then color me impressed. I sat around on NSD and watched the SEC network coverage until 230 then did not care who won the recruiting championship because it was either Alabama which I don't care about but it still is impressive how many states they go in an dominate or USCw which hopefully will get all the kids who are in 50 mile radius of campus. They were on the edge of their seat for kids from local powerhouses who were TOP recruits if you have even a thought of them committing somewhere else then they actually are very bad recruiters. CBJ and company would never let a top kid who they wanted (remember it has to be who they want) go to Georgia within 50-100 miles.

I'm not saying any of your opinions or facts are right or wrong. That being said, have you ever said a negative thing about Florida football?

He has. LW is probably the most candid UF fan when it comes to being critical of his own team, but HG can be reasonable as well.

I will say this about CeCe. He's not going to be a Vol so what's say we bury this suckas thread on page 4. Sorry gatas. Imo,Jmo,TIFWIW,BBQ

When has that happened anywhere the last 5 years with more kids enrolling early.

He flipped Scarlett and McGriff weeks ago.

Flipped Francios for two hours lol

Guy and his staff had no real relationships with most of the kids committed to other schools. Those same kids wouldn't even committed to Muschamp.

I think its rival fans who are more disappointed about UF class. Most UF recruiting fans believe he did a great job giving the circumstances.

I'll take the Scarlett and McGriff argument ... kinda maybe. Pulling a kid from the Hurricane dumpster fire shouldn't be much of a struggle. I thought they would pull several more kids from Miami, Fl St, CF, etc...

The state of Florida is rich with talent and the Gators name carries a lot of weight. In terms of the talent pool, FL is WAY ahead of Tennessee so there's no comparison (and you know it).

I didn't say I was disappointed with Florida's class. Hell, I love it. I hope you guys have another one just like this one next year. I said if I were a fan, I'd be a little concerned with how he closed (for the reasons I gave above). That's all.

He may be the best coach in the world --- we'll find out soon. The Gator roster still has lots of 4 and 5 star talent.

It's alright most fans made the same excuses for Dooley.
