They were wrong about who we would take. Not one of them said we had room for a te or punter. So why would they be right about not having room for a qb? Especially when we are still after said qb.

Nobody ever mentioned who we could take. We only pointed out that due to numbers and early commitments by Jennings and Dormady, that there was no room for Gibson.

So you making a list of positions and how many at each spot we would and can take is not a list of who we can take? Ok. Sure.

If we have room for guys not on your list it means Butch does not have the same view as you. Stop acting like we can't afford to take him when you have been wrong already about who we can and will take.

I thought that was a possibility. I had a K (interchangeable with P) in my 20 man position breakdown post because I was unsure. Taking a LS and P is a commitment to ST for the future as well as an indicator to me that this is a 23-24 man class.

TG is this year's Adoree. I want him as a QB. But I am not planning on him at all. Happy with Dormady and JJ regardless of how it works out.

It seems like you don't want us to take any DTs or OTs so we can take Gibson. we have 2 QBs right now, 1 DT, 0/1 OT (jones is a maybe here) yet both DT & OT have multiple players on the field at the same time in standard plays, yet where we have 2 players where only 1 gets on the field 99% of the time we need another player??? Any further additions make it less likely that we take another QB (any other QB) because we still have major needs at other positions, and we are in for players the same quality at their positions as Gibson is at DTQB/ath.

The thread title says that TG can play whatever position, so maybe he can play DT for the Vols. :popcorn:

Ok for you having trouble following. Tux said he did not make a list of who we could and would take. He did. I asked what was the list if it was not who we could or would take. His list was wrong. He is wrong about us taking Gibson. Pretty simple.

I want us to and we will take more linemen. Gibson will have no effect on us taking them. Just like taking a punter or te had no effect. We will get who we need and who Butch wants. He wants Gibson. The numbers will work themselves out. Someone won't qualify or will decommit. It happens every year.

So it sounds like you're saying if A, tux made a list of positions we will take + B, tux was wrong about that list = C, tux is wrong about Gibson.

I just don't see a place where Gibson would play. We need a 3 deep at each position on the Dline to be great.

TEs, LBs, DTs, DEs, QBs, Ps, OL, none of these factor into TGs recruitment. CBJ would trade the naming rights to Neyland Stadium if he could just be in TGs top 3 come NSD. Anyone who questions any of this is just on crack. Obviously.

pretty solid first post. I think the main debate is where we take him not if. I would be fine with him adding a good 100lbs and playing on either line, a DT with 4.4 speed. that would make everyone happy. :)
