It means something akin to "reading between the lines" now that pretty much no one believes in magic, but it refers to the practice of actually reading patterns in tea leaves to predict the future via divination in medieval times, before people figured out how things like electricity and stuff worked. :hi:

In response to a couple of posts in the last few pages... the following strikes me as common sense, but I'll say it anyway.

I think there's a certain level of football player that Jones continues recruiting even when that player's position is technically 'full'. Adoree was in that class last year; even though we were set at WR and CB, we still made every effort to get him.

The staff seems to be treating Gibson as if he is on that level this year, regardless of the can-he-can't-he noise going on in this thread. I don't know their plans for him any better than any of you do, but the coaches clearly want him in orange.

As for the numbers... there are any number of things that can ease that crunch between now and February. It may even work itself out; as much as I like our class so far, I really doubt that every one of our current commits will sign on the dotted line come NSD. So don't sweat it so much.

It always works itself out every year you have transfers due to playing time, depth, ect. Then you have guys who just quit football period. Enjoy the process take some migraine Meds and let Butch work.

You always seem to have a good sense for the recruiting stuff and I'd noticed you mention this before. Not sure how long your insider list is but there's about 3, maybe 4 accounts that I really pay attention to when they post because I know they're bringing the goods. Just different ones I kind of quietly picked up on in reading the board.
