247top247 senior wide receiver darius slayton of greater atlanta christian school in norcross, ga., told 247sports' rusty mansell on tuesday that he's scheduled to take an official visit to tennessee this weekend.
The 6-foot-2, 182-pound slayton has become more involved with the vols since his teammate and friend, top247 cornerback micah abernathy, announced his commitment to tennessee more than a month ago. Slayton went to georgia on his first official visit the weekend of sept. 27, and he said he's planning to take an official visit to south carolina next weekend before making his college choice "soon" after that.
Why would you think he's a back-up plan? This kid is a stud. Can play CB or WR. Van made his choice. If this kid decides he wants to be a Vol then I'm all for it.
I just don't see us taking 4 WRs this class...PW, Van (if he flips), Bruce/Perry (I think it ends up that we only take one of these, and the other might greyshirt Bruce).
Ah, never mind Just take them all!

A blurb on Volquest makes it seem as if he may have waited too long to choose between Ala, LSU and GA and a mutual parting of ways occured.
As Signu stated, it looks at this point like a UT v. SC battle with UT in the drivers seat.
I think the question is, is he a take at this point?
