'15 GA CB Micah Abernathy (UT Signee 2/4/15)

I hope not. I like the Texas kid at CB. He's quite a bit better in coverage than Ugo at this point. Martin is an elite prospect idk what posters on this board are looking at. LSU and Florida offered a juco CB. Think about that for a second. Plus he has 3 years to play. Abernathy is also a better prospect than Ugo. Amadi is a good player but we just are in on better players. CB also isn't a dire need. We took 6 in the past two years. All those guys can run and are good players. They're just young, our fans need to settle down. :)

I agree with everything you just said... especially Martin

I don't think anyone that has seen Amadi perform this off-season would put him behind any of those guys right now in coverage. He may not have the potential of Abernathy or Martin because of his height, but he is better than all of them as a player right now at CB.

I would like to take three CBs and three OLBs in this class. We are lacking in depth and it'd be nice to redshirt some solid talent moving forward.

Miller, Martin, and Abernathy.
Smith, Sapp and Atkinson.

I don't know if we will have the room but I want to see all of those guys in orange next fall.

3 OLB definitely isn't going to happen. 3 CB's is unlikely.

You could be right, but you directly contradicted one of VN's DB experts... so you probably aren't.

Here's my thing with Amadi, I'm wondering what year would he play at Tennessee. Berry, Moseley, Gaulden, Payne, and Foreman are all equals talent wise. So how's he going to pass them. I can see Abernathy pushing for a spot much earlier.

Redshirt.

There it is ! Six pages of squabble squashed by one word. I'm no expert unless you count thousands of hours of reading VN as credible, but I like Amadi's fire I think that can overcome his height.

I think Evan Berry, Gaulden, and Moseley will be harder to overcome than height personally.

This.

Personally I would rather they wait and land exactly who they need next season as compared to somebody this season that they would need to RS and hope can develop.

Good teams develop players. There was a time when only the most elite freshman would see the field here. Hopefully that will start becoming the case again.

The problem with a lot of fans mindset today is they would rather see the coaches skip the development stage and just drop any kid who is not a starter or at least in the 2 deep the day he walks on campus. Just drop them and make room to take a full class of unknowns next year. It's a surefire way to remain a 5-6 win team going forward. They just don't know any better.

We haven't had much to develop.. So yeah in a few years...

Of course I don't agree.

A top 5 class, 2 more in the top 10, another that was top 15, and the other 2 were ranked 17 & 21 in the last 6 years.

IMO that is a lot to work with. I'd bet there would be a long line of quality schools who finish in the top 25 in the polls each year who would take those type classes in a second.

Had too many busts and trouble makers in those classes. Hopefully Butch is doing a better job of getting guys that will not be busts and will behave while in school.

That's Dooley for you. They didn't develop anyone. Kids were the same or worse by the time they left.

Butch appears to be different. Everyone is getting better that wants to. The ones that don't want to are shown the door.

You think Foreman is as good as Amandi? Serious question

Good. It's time we don't have to rely on a bevy of freshman every year.

Every year Bama signs toprated DBs, but here they are again starting Tony Brown after starting Eddie Jackson last year?
