Someone wrote that this is a package deal and we are taking his brother from Cincinnati. How is that going to work with the numbers?
Word out of AJC is Ralph is indeed transferring
I officially eat my crow
Still don't see how he will have eligibility though...Sr and has played in the first 2 games this year
It would just mean that IF the staff takes it's full amount of 24/25(whatever it is), then his scholarship would come from an additional current Vol who would be booted to make room for RDA1V's 1 year scholarship.
80(current Vols on roster)-12 SRs leaving=68. Add 1 for RDA1V and you have 69. How many does it take to get you to 85? 16 spots that will be available, and 26 commitments.
What is so hard to believe? He is currently injured. He hasn't used a RS year yet. He qualifies for a RS (medical) by virtue of having only played in 16% of Cincy's 12-game schedule. He graduates in 4 years from Cincy and transfers without penalty via the senior transfer rule that allows post-grad players to transfer to pursue graduate degrees not offered at their current school.
Here is his older brother Ralph's profileAlso it appears we have offered to take Micah's older brother Ralph, whom Butch coached while at Cincinnati. He was awarded a medical redshirt and will graduate before transferring to us with one year of immediate eligibility. BOOM Butches! Good morning VN, Wake UP!:rock::rock:
A lot of kids have been recruited over and beaten out by younger guys.
I think we're seeing a lot of upperclassmen are simply not good enough to play for this team. The fact that so many "kids" are coming in and beating out older players for immediate playing time supports that. It sucks to cut those players loose BUT if they can play for another program and get on the field then it works out best for both parties. If a player isn't fulfilling their end of the obligation through but academics and effort to get better as a player then they're effectively terminating their own scholarship as well.It would just mean that IF the staff takes it's full amount of 24/25(whatever it is), then his scholarship would come from an additional current Vol who would be booted to make room for RDA1V's 1 year scholarship.
