'15 GA CB Micah Abernathy (UT Signee 2/4/15)

Tuttle is only 6'2" though. I like Jones a lot as a prospect, but I'm not sure he has the length for LT to be a natural position for him. He could very well prove me wrong though.

What I was getting at was Tuttle is a 300+lb player but in the picture Jones looks to be the bigger person. The other was sayin he was 280 lbs at the most.

Gotcha. I misunderstood. Thought you were talking about height.

Ideal length for LT or no ideal length for LT though, I think we can all agree that Jones is a beast. Love his aggression.

I want all our OL guys to be aggressive and play with a mean streak. Our DL is taking shape now our OL needs to do the same. Once both line are good we'll be back to kicking rears.

Practicing on ESPNU and Abernathy having a good session is 7 on 7 with pads. Good pass break ups and if all else fails at CB or S then he could be a very good RB.

Has anyone been able to watch this game? I've seen small updates on our guys but I'm assuming most are watching the bowl game.

Saw him get "beat" on one play. Christian Kirk just made an amazing catch, Micah was in great position just couldn't knock it down. Was like a 40 yard catch

EDIT: Campbell apparently. According to BB ^^^

Yeah I gate that but I love that the bowl is going the way it is! Thanks for the info man.

Anyone know what kind of week this kid had at the under armor practices and game? Just wondering if he's going to be bumped to a 4 star on rivals. I know it doesn't matter but it will help our over all ranking.

Pretty sure Ford is getting a 4 star bump and Phillips might make the jump to a 5 star. This along with landing Allen, Sapp, Love and maybe Jones should help us remain in the top 5 in the team rankings, which is great for perception.

To those interested or planning to see the movie Selma there is a great scene to watch for featuring a conversation with MLK and Micah's grandfather Ralph Abernathy (a close confidant of Reverend King's) .

Basically, Dr. King and Ralph are sitting in a jail cell in Selma and it is a dark moment where King is questioning what they are doing and the very real risks that a lot of innocent people will be killed as they try to get the vote in Selma. Ralph Abernathy quotes scripture and heartens King for what is to come.

Nice scene, especially since I was able to tie it back to Vols recruiting for my poor wife who thought she'd be safe from Vols football talk watching a historical drama. :eek:lol:

So does that make MLK a VFL?

Thanks for that post. Can't wait to see the movie. MLK is one of my favorites. Black leadership today is nothing like MLK. Possibly, along with George Washington, the greatest leader in our history.

So does that make MLK a VFL?

In the sense that he gave his life so that others could exercise their freedoms, absolutely.

That is what is so powerful about having a team name that honors those who have sacrificed for this country, and I think that is one reason our fans are more committed than most other fanbases. "Volunteers" means more to us than just supporting some generic "Tigers" or "Wildcats" team.

So proud to have the Abernathy brothers on this team for the great service their family has done for our country. You cannot ask for better representatives for your university.

Micah Abernathy's grandfather will be portrayed in the new movie Selma as a civil rights activist & Martin Luther King Jr's right hand man! Very respectable family!
