'15 GA CB Micah Abernathy (UT Signee 2/4/15)

I love Paulk as much as the next guy I just don't think he can be much of a contributor this year if he does indeed come back into the fold. If we need a third back to take on carries its gonna have to be Kelly, ready or not.

Umm we are pretty dang thin at CB.

We can make it work with 3 scholly RBs and a bag of potatoes, but you can't just roll anybody out at corner. Too important of a position. Need him at corner more than RB.

This is the SEC. You can't just roll anyone out at any position. Running backs are much more susceptible to injury than corner. We really have two running backs (who are elite) and a bunch of guys who are true freshman. Joc Bruce isn't an sec running back and I'm not sure Vincent Perry is yet. I'm more comfortable with who we have at corner and CB depth than the RB depth. Micah will be a tFR but he's more talented than Joc and Vincent. I really really wish derrel Scott hadn't left because then we wouldn't have this quandary

True freshman RBs are generally more suited to come in and play than CBs. That's a tough position

seeing as we line up mostly in nickel that is incorrect. we are much thinner at cb than RB and isnt his brother coming in the fall at RB anyway?

Well be fine at both positions come fall.

At CB
Sutton
Moseley
Martin
Gaulden
Foreman
Abernathy

Rb
Hurd
Kamara
Mich Rb (Can't remember his name)
Young
Pig will get carries as will Pearson.
Last year all we had was Hurd and a hurt Lane.

We will manage just fine with this many bodies.

We're not stacked yet, but we are better off than most teams now.

Of course not. We agree on Bruce and Perry and Scott sure did crap the bed. We're talking about where Micah can help us in this context.

He's not going to play running back here so let him train at CB and maybe take over for Cam next year. It's dumb to play Micah at running back this year when he'd be at best the 3rd maybe 4th option. If we get to Micah starting RB then season is tanked anyway.

Devrin isn't here, Hurd has yet to prove he can stay injury free, pig won't line up at RB, and neither will pearson. So while yes you were able to stack names you weren't able to give any that make me feel better. You were able to show why I'm confident at CB though so thank you for compiling that list so others can make their own decision.

Edit: Wait I remembered that Joseph Young is coming. He doesn't make me feel better really, but it's another body that is a step above a walk on.

We will be better at RB depth once Kelly arrives and Paulk most likely returning this summer. Definitely are better as far as depth at CB, especially when Martin and the others arrive.

That's sounds good with me especially if he's the next cam. I just think he should get some looks like Evan did just in case. I just have a bad feeling about the RBS health this year

So we will have Martin Moseley and Foreman next year. Who knows maybe Martin puts it all together and gets drafted (doubt it just yet). Gaulden is being groomed as our nickel. Micah is needed at CB waaaaaaaaay more than RB.

We will replenish the RB stable I'm this next class. You can roll a frosh out there no problem.

Young is gone and except on jet sweeps Pearson and Pig won't get RB carries. With it sounding like Paulk will be back this summer, Kelly and the late RB signed we got we will atleast have bodies. Hurd and Kamara must stay healthy though.

You're an optimist. I'm a pessimist. I'm hopeful everything works out but I just don't have a good feeling about it. We shall see

made same mistake. Joseph Young is a walk on or something. Not Devrin. Took me two days to figure out why people kept forgetting DY was gone. Haha.

Just realized the same thing. He's a blue shirt like Bruce and Perry. Another body I suppose. We shall see how he does

I am somewhere in between. I am more pessimistic about CB until we know Justin Martin is bonafide. Hope we just stay healthy at RB! GBO.

Injury is part of the game. Hurd had pretty decent production behind a below average line and inconsistent QB play/ passing attack. Kamara is an upgrade from Lane.
Kelly is an excellent back. That's really all we need considering the amount of carries Dobbs will have.

Our line is older. The Wr's are older and stronger. This should create more running room for our guys.

Plus I expect a much more balanced attack from our offense, with more TE passing and vertical shots to the Wr's. We'll pass more period.

We'll be fine.

Micah will stay at CB because that is the best spot for him.
And yes we will land probably two more Rb's and still have Hurd, Kamara, Kelly.

We also get Osborne who is very fast and talented to add to Martin, Miller, Moseley, Foreman, Gaulden.

The way Butch is recruiting I'd say our worst days are behind us as far as having depth and skill available.

There's no doubt Hurd was productive. I'm just concerned about the durability of his shoulder. He got hurt last year towards the end and is still in a green jersey. It may be precautionary, but still a bit of a red flag when I look at it. I agree on Kelly and Kamara is a huge upgrade over lane. I hope you're right and that everything does turn out well
