Interesting facts about him: his father is a former Georgia state senator. His grandfather was a civil rights leader and close friend of MLKjr

think Tennessee might be more of a contender for Abernathy than some believe. Some think Georgia is the team to beat, and others think it might be more of an Ohio State-Tennessee battle right now, so I've heard some conflicting things on that. But I would say the Vols probably are at least in his top three.

Yeah, I did not like our chances here. UGA seemed to be way out front. Maybe something happened? Maybe all the arrests had mom and dad ready to look at other quality options. Kid would be a huge get.

Hope you're right. Every time I travel the RDA in ATL I think there's no way UGA let's him leave the state without a fight.

But the family knows Butch well.

3-4 years of Abernathy or 2(I think) of Martin....
It's a tough one, Martin's 6'2" frame and his above average 4.4 speed, this guy could , IMO, come right in and start opposite of Cam. I really like his game

Abernathy is 6', so it's not like he is real short, and he also has speed. Getting at least three years of playing time. He is really athletic and a lot of teams want him. I don't know, I think I would take Abernathy because he has more eligibility, and it would really help our secondary depth, I mean we would be loaded for the next 4 years with quality players who all have speed, coverage skills and pretty good tacklers.

It seems like Woods being dropped is a forgone conclusion, I say take both if we can and I think we could

Have Martin come in and help out right away, and Abernathy redshirt or contribute right away in the secondary and special teams. I really like both players potential, I wouldn't want to pick one or the other. CBJ has a tough job.

If we could only get one of Abernathy or Martin who would you pick?

I like Martin, if forced to choose.

We will be recruiting top talent for years to come. Young guys will come in and develop. We need (possibly) someone to step in next year and immediately play, depending on what we get this year.

The wild card is how the opposite corner if Sutton does. If he is lights out, then you take Micah

I believe Martin enrolled at JUCO this January and plans to graduate next May. If all goes to plan he'll have 4 years to play 3.

I think the staff would take both, and yes, find a way to make room. Be it dropping a current commit or sacrificing Leb to the gods for another number or two :)

Considering his brother is also named Ralph David...I would say yes

Ralph David is his great grandfather. His brother is Ralph David the 4th. At Westminster, His brother was called RDA4. RDA4 visited Tennessee on an unofficial but was not offered. CBJ signed him @ UC.

Not gonna happen. CBJ already sacrificed Gibson so he could keep me around. Butch said the numbers matter.

:birgits_giggle:

hahaha I can't help but agree. FWIW, I haven't heard Torrance's name come up (outside of the usual stargazing, which yes, even happens in the AD to some extent) since June.

Sounds about right. After CBJ took Dormady, TG no longer made any sense at all.

What some people don't understand is the resources (manpower) used on TG has since been devoted to other prospects especially the in-state guys. They want this state locked down asap, which is ultimately a good thing and the right move

That was my thinking after Jennings. Wanted more of a polished passer as our sec.

That was my feeling as well. In fact, most know I never liked the idea of Gibson at UT at all. After Riley left taking (2) made sense, but I was not sure if CBJ preferred a passer as I did or if he would go for (2) dual threat guys. I am pleased with what CBJ ultimately decided to do. I think it's best for UT going forward.
