Phillips is a hand-in-the dirt DE, like Barnett. Walker is an OLB/Pass Rusher like Maggitt. You take both because they both fill different roles.

I could see Maybin moved to MLB, after having another season to bulk up for the position. He would bring the kind of speed at that position which is pretty rare. Then rotate Dillon Bates and Walker at Maybin's former OLB position. That would be a pretty fierce LB Corps.

Yes he actually finds out Sunday at 3:19 pm. Or UT could have a general grasp of his academic standing since we have someone on staff whose only job is to work with kids who need help qualifying.

With rumors of Scott and Hendrix slipping out I would love to add Weber (HB) and Walker to fill those spots. Also have many guys we are still after. #ButchStones

Don't be so temperamental. And FWIW I didn't understand that it's something reviewed while on visits, I wasn't calling you out. Just generally thought it was weird, not your comment.

Edit: I am surprised as well and it's all speculation from Tn reports right now but it "makes sense" right now with what positions we are recruitng still

I surprised that Hendrix didn't play more this year. But I still think its way to early for him to be trying to transfer. I'd say the staff may be trying to convert him to DT or he see's the depth chart and knows he wont start at SDE till Barnet leaves. And we've got good DL recruits coming in next year.

Next year our DL will be nasty. I kinda hope Maggit adds 5-10 pounds and is a full time DE. Hendrix at 280-290 would be the jordan williams of next year. Plus Shy and Khalie

Hendrix is athletic and has good speed at that size. I want him at DE.

That'd be a solidly executed plan by this staff if it happened... Lose Dormady and then miss on the QB they wanted to replace him with. I wish I could say they haven't done something similar to this before, but then you look at Richmond's recruitment and realize how bad this staff botched that situation. Grass isn't always greener on the other side... Playing with fire here IMHO
