ATLANTA Lorenzo Nunez picked up a scholarship offer from Tennessee more than six months ago, emerging as one of the Vols early quarterback targets in the 2015 class.

Top247 junior quarterback Lorenzo Nunez of Harrison High School in Kennesaw, Ga., is ranked the nation's No. 151 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite for the 2015 class.
He recently returned to Tennessee to attend his first game there.
The Top247 junior quarterback from Harrison High School in Kennesaw, Ga., who now claims more than a half-dozen offers to date, said he went to the Vols home finale against Vanderbilt on Nov. 23 after making his first visit to Knoxville during the summer.
It was exciting seeing them play, seeing the environment and just the school and stuff like that, and how the coaches interacted with the players, said Nunez, whos ranked the nations No. 151 overall prospect and No. 5 dual threat-quarterback for the 2015 class in the 247Sports Composite, which equally weighs prospect rankings and ratings from major recruiting media outlets.
It was crazy all the orange and stuff like that. It was a pretty big environment.
The 6-foot-2.5, 190-pound Nunez holds early offers from Ohio State, Tennessee, Clemson, Texas A&M, Kentucky, Boston College and Charlotte, and he said no one is standing out among the teams currently pursuing him.
But he said he has become plenty familiar with the Vols over the past several months by staying in contact with Tennessee offensive coordinator Mike Bajakian and wide receivers coach Zach Azzanni, and hes already planning to return to Knoxville at some point.
(Theyre saying) just how much they like me and how they want me to come back up to the school for a junior day and talk to me and stuff like that, Nunez said. (I like) how straight-up they are with me, and theyre not playing games and stuff like that, and how much they like me and they talk to me, like, weekly.
He also said Tennessees facilities, including the new Anderson Training Center, were pretty neat. But he said hes just looking at how the coaches interact with me and stuff like that, because all the campuses are pretty much the same.
Nunez, who claims to have been timed at 4.55 seconds in the 40-yard dash, said the Vols have made it clear to him that they believe he would be a good fit for their spread offense.
They like how I play, how I can spread the play out and how I can run and pass, he said.
He said he also attended Clemsons games against Georgia and Florida State this season and visited Ohio State for its game against Penn State on Oct. 26.
While Nunez intends to make it to at least a few schools in the coming months, he said theres nowhere in particular hes hoping to visit.
Its still relatively early in the recruiting process for Nunez, who added his most recent offer from Texas A&M on Saturday, and he said hes not rushing to decide on a college. But he already has identified a few factors he plans to consider as he continues weighing his options.
Just an offense that fits me, the coaches I like, how the environment fits me and the education, he said.
