A three star walk on from IL. Wow and at OT. Talk about a huge help. This is a weird situation and can't blame a guy for accepting a scholarship somewhere but it would be cool.

If he were good then I am sure they would Prob put him on scholly next year. It's easier to fit someone under 85 man roster than the NSD Signing limits. So he is probably ok with paying his way for a year to play at a place like TN over Rutgers. spending 4-5 years in Knoxville is a lot better than NEw Jersey.

Not for nothing, but this kid seems to enjoy being mean to others until the whistle blows, a quality I enjoy in my offensive linemen.

Nazareth Academy (LaGrange Park, Ill.) offensive tackle Jack Shutack is down to Rutgers and Tennessee with National Signing Day rapidly approaching, but plans to make his pledge one day prior to the college football spectacle.

"I don't know (where I'm gonna go yet)," said Shutack, the 6-5, 275-pound senior. "I have to talk to my coach about it, but I'm probably gonna make a decision within the next 24 hours, most likely."

...The two teams are finalists in the Shutack sweepstakes, however, Rutgers has extended an offer while Tennessee has not. "It doesn't really matter," he said. "I'm not looking at where I have offers from, I'm looking at who are the coaches and how they are, from that stand point."

I don't think I've ever heard a prospect say that: "I'm not looking at where I have offers from, it really doesn't matter."

Wow. That's a new one.

Honestly, all it means I guess is that he wouldn't mind paying for his first year of college. If he is not on scholarship the first year, then he could not count towards the class or the 85, but if we chose to put him on scholarship the next, he still doesn't affect our class numbers, just the 85.

Would be a great situation.

I'm sure he's familiar with the Alex Ellis situation. Butch has shown that he'll give walk ons a chance to earn a scholarship. If money isn't an issue, I can see Shutack viewing this as an opportunity.

I think we planned on offering if we missed out on Drew. JMO. Hopefully he walks on. Biggest walk-on in a while if he does. Since Swafford decided not to GS and walk-on

I'll take things Greg Mclisse said for $1000 Alex.

At least this kid has a PWO offer from us and would love to have him in Orange!
