'15 JUCO RB Alvin Kamara (UT commit 6/21/14)

Thanks, Ron. You are the man.

247 has him as 100% to UGA as of 5/7. Do we have a dog in the hunt?

Hubbs said two months ago that it was a UT/UGA battle. His JUCO semester just ended a few days ago and his first visit was to UT. I'd say our chances aren't so bad.

So his visit was just for fun? UT has at least some shot if he took the time to visit.

That's why I said I was guessing. The visit may mean something, it may not. I have no inside info other than what has been put out on here via 247 and VQ, just seems like we are fighting an uphill battle against the home state after him leaving the state didn't go so well for him. Again, just a hunch.

I'm pretty sure that Georgia was in the hunt pretty good the first time around.

If we get him this time, it'll be because the staff recruited him well. Dooley isn't here to screw this one up.

I hear you. Just think that because he visited, UT has a shot. Coach Jones always talks about the importance of getting guys on campus and how that's the first big step. Home state is a tough battle to fight against though. We'll see

Don't get me wrong, I would love to add another quality back. But if he left Bama because of lack of pt, does it seem logical for him to come here and have to compete with Hurd and Scott for pt? I could be wrong about his reasons for leaving Bama though.

Completely different offensive systems.

He was like 6th or 7th at Bama. Most of the guys ahead of him were in his class. If he came to UT, its a race between him, Hurd, Scott, Paulk. All 4 would get PT. If he goes to UGA, he would be in the same position, if not worse.

Yeah, pretty much any back at Bama would be a starter at any other school. Can't blame him for wanting to transferring.

Yeah seems like a lot of kids out of juco wanna get closer to home.. That's why I've been thinking dj jones will eventually choose scar.

Four-star running back Alvin Kamara of Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College visited Tennessee on Friday, sources close to his recruitment told govols247.

The 5-foot-11, 200-pound Kamara — who redshirted at Alabama last season before transferring to Hutchinson earlier this year — is ranked the nation's No. 3 overall junior-college prospect in the 247Sports Composite for the 2015 class.

All nine predictions on 247Sports' Crystal Ball point to Georgia as the favorite to land Kamara, a former standout at Norcross (Ga.) High School.

He actually was battling Henry for the 3rd spot in fall camp and the word was he was winning because Henry was having issues learning to block. Got a minor knee injury that required a scope which set him back and allowed Henry and even Tenpenny to pass him. He then found himself in Saban's doghouse for a few minor issues but nothing out of the ordinary.

I think it had more to do with he worked hard to move up in a log jam to only see everything he worked for go because of the knee injury and it affected him mentally and he lost focus. In my opinion wherever he lands it will be no different from the impact J Robinson will have from the start. He will be a one of the top 2 RBs for that team especially if he arrives next spring.

Unless he's out of shape, I think he'd battle Hurd for starter. Probably beat him. I think he's definitely better than Paulk and Scott.

I recall that too. To her defense, she held up quite well against the internet tough guys.

She poked her head in here a couple of months ago to say she's staying in AK's ear. I'm real curious if she was around for the visit or not. I'm sure she'll hear about it, tho.

lol... U think???

No I wasn't.... My boys can handle themselves well. They don't need my help.
