Gurley couldn't run behind this OL![]()
I am sure LV, the resident numbers expert, will totally disagree with you.
However I totally agree with you. Gotta have good RB depth in the SEC.
With losing Paulk the staff could decide another RB would be worth the spot. I'd rather use it elsewhere. Hurd and Scott from 2014, Reid and Kamara for 2015, Several really good RBs leaning toward UT for 2016 tells me we would be just fine. Also IMO Bruce could see a few carries here and there in the Pig/DY role. As others have pointed out the RBs don't really matter if the OL can't open any holes for them to run through.
If we lose a commitment, I'd think OL is where that spot needs to be used at this point IF the staff can find a kid worth the spot.
RB Alvin Kamara, Tennessee commit: This talented running back was the No. 32-ranked player in the country when he originally signed with Alabama back in 2013. But because of the Crimson Tides stable of running backs Kamara didnt break the regular rotation and decided to transfer. Kamara, on paper, seems to be a great fit for Tennessees scheme. With his explosive playmaking ability he should be able to make a smooth transition back to the SEC next year.
Really very excited about him. He should definitely be able to mix it up. Will be excited about some 2 back sets. Hurd and Kamara, Kamara and Scott, Scott and Hurd, and then throw Reid in there?
Reid is a player, btw. Looking at his stats, he's having a ridiculous year.
Yeah, I can't wait. He's really tearing it up at Hutchinson.
Against a very good Coffeyville team ranked 14th nationally, Kamara ended up with 207 yards & 3 TDs on 27 carries plus the long TD catch.
Rushing stats through 6 games: 128 carries for 899 yards (7.0 ypc) & 13 TDs.
