'15 JUCO RB/CB Jeryl Brazil

If CBJ accepts his commitment then that must mean Martin is looking someplace else. I hope that's not the case. Big corners with Martin's speed don't come around all the time.

I'm a huge Martin fan as well; however, this kid is a boss as well. The great thing about Brazil is he can help on special teams as well. The dude is blazing fast, and he could be a solid threat returning punts or kickoffs for us. Multi-positional players is what CBJ wants, and this kid fits the bill.

P.S. Anyone know how to embed videos so they show up right on your post? I can get the links up but never the actual video so you can just watch the video straight from VolNation.

Picked up a CB to UT. I say take this kid and Justin Martin at CB and call it a day

Probably one or the other. IMO the first CB to commit among the remaining targets is our guy. (Unless they are planning on recruiting over Griffin and Miller which I doubt)

How well can this guy high point the ball. If that is proficient then his height won't matter that much.

For me the difference maker between Martin and Brazil is off the field issues.

I think both could help UT win some ball games, but I'll usually side with the TN kid all things being equal(or close to it). Martin being much taller with similar speed to me would give him the spot if it came down to one or the other.

I like both Martin and Brazil. Being rangy Martin is probably a better defender all around while Brazil is probably more of a multi-purpose big play maker. One thing I've noticed just by looking at the two is that Martin looks super frail. I'm not saying he is frail, but he looks it.

4. Jeryl Brazil, CB, Freshman, LSU -- 6.22 (55m), 6.70 (60m), 10.36 (100m)
The four-star athlete out of Loranger, La., will play cornerback for LSU. He ran just one 100-meter race as a senior, which means makes his 10.36 run as a junior all the more impressive. There's certainly a chance that, given his trajectory, he'd prove to be as fast as anyone on this list if he had run more races his senior season.

Recruiting analyst James Smith on Jeryl Brazil
Strengths: Brazil is the fastest high school player that will ever suit up at LSU. He possesses world-class speed, but there is a lot more to his game. His ball skills, lateral quickness and strength are also very good. When he is on offense and the ball is in his hands, his vision, burst and speed make him a threat at all times. He runs with good balance and possesses good natural vision. This dual-threat athlete has also shown a lot of promise at cornerback as well, although he is very raw at the position. When in press coverage, he does a good job shooting his hands and using his upper-body strength to battle on the line of scrimmage.

Mike Scarborough, publisher of Rivals website Tigerbait.com, said he sees a lot of parallels between Brazil and [Russell] Shepard as well.

“He’s without a doubt that guy,” Scarborough said. “Very personable, active on Facebook and Twitter. At the Under Armour (All-American) Game, he was talking to other prospects. When they had a big recruiting weekend, you’d get the feeling he was one of the ringleaders and the guy in the room they were talking to the most.”

ESPN senior recruiting analyst Tom Luginbill said every school needs a Brazil in its class — or would love to have one.

“I think it’s critical,” Luginbill said. “It’s an opportunity for the coaching staff to have almost an extra limb out there.

He beat Trendon Holliday's state record in the 55 meter back in HS. That is absolutely blazing speed. Holliday and Denps are probably the two fastest players I can remember coming through the SEC.

Shea Dixon @Sheadixon Close #LSU commit Jeryl Brazil has beaten Trindon Holliday's record at the Louisiana state meet by finishing the 55-meter in 6.25.

If you averaged out that 55 meter to a 40 yard dash it is 4.156... Of course it would be a bit higher than that but it's certainly believable that he could run a sub-4.3 40. That is ridiculous. Think about him as our punt/ kick returner

Kid has some serious jet fuel....Didn't get a great jump from the blocks but hit 3rd and 4th gear so quick....
