'15 LA RB Kendall Bussey (Former UT commit)

He's a possible unofficial visitor to Knoxville this weekend. It sounds like he's more interested in the Vols than I first thought. We are trying to get in touch with him this week.

Direct quote from Fortenberry on Bussey.

Mods on the cornhusker sight said a flip was possibly imminent last week when he visited A&M said they heard he had a realy nice visit, so it sounds like he is shopping around. Also the LSU RB commit Guice might not be as firm to LSU as previously thought, so we could see some RB shuffling coming soon.

If you can find time today please post something about Rocky in every players thread in the recruiting forum. Thanks ahead of time..

Dude is obsessed. He may have taken the title belt for repetitive posting away from Leb. He can't wait to say " I told you so" if he doesn't end up a Vol.

Which won't happen, because Reid is ALL VOL and isn't afraid of competition. Kamara, Fraiser, and Reid would be a ridiculous combo.

The only way it happens imo is if we added both Frasier and Love (very unlikely we get both) and the coaches ask him to look around. Either way I don't undertand his adamancy with pushing that Reid will not be a Vol. It's not like he's going to get any kind of credit or respect out of it for having some sort if inside info since everyone knows where the info is coming from. I don't get it, I guess some people just enjoy being obnoxious.

I agree though, that would be a great RB haul, maybe even better than last years from top to bottom. Frazier is one of my favorite backs in this class. I like Reid a lot as well, I don't think he's quick as explosive as Frazier but he's still a great looking back.

I think we're in the minority but I actually agree with you on that one. We have Scott as our 3rd down/scat back of the future and I think Perry can play that role as well. I like Love but I don't love him (snickers). I don't think he's a necessity at this point, imo he's more of a luxury and we have much more pressing needs than to take a luxury player. If we can add Frazier it's a diferent story because he's an every down type of back with a lot of talent. We need another workhorse to spell Hurd, or be there incase he gets injured. I think Reid is that kind of back as well but we still need one more guy like that incase of injury(s). I like Karmara a lot as well but I don't necassairly think he's a guy who can carry the ball the whole game for the entirety of the season. I see him as more of at 10-15 touches a game type of back but that's jmo.

Wasn't intended to be.. I took a quick look at his recruiting page and film and he appears to be a little taller, bigger, faster and IMO better all around.. Albeit different positions..

That being said, I am NO real judge of talent.. I respect your opinion Breaker, what do you think of this kid?

I have nothing here for now my man. :)

"I talked to Kendall Bussey Sr. tonight and he told me that he and his son, Kendall Bussey Jr., a Rivals100 running back from Isidore Newman School (where Peyton went) in New Orleans, will be in town this weekend for an unofficial visit.

Bussey Sr. told me he and his son had been talking to Robert Gillespie the past few weeks and that there is mutual interest. Tennessee hasn't offered, though, but it will be interesting if one comes this weekend or not.

Another note on Bussey Jr., when he was in the seventh grade he was in Knoxville for a track meet and he visited Neyland Stadium and Bussey Jr. fell in love with it and had been a Tennessee fan since then. The Vols never really went after Bussey but also didn't know of the mutual interest from what I understand and Bussey made a very early commitment to Nebraska all the way back in February. Before then he was committed to Tulane.

This may be one to watch over the next several months to see how things play out. I didn't know if there was legitimate interest until I talked to Bussey Sr. tonight. They said if everything goes well this weekend they will likely take an official visit after the season. They are planning on going to Nebraska for an official visit next weekend."

This one seems like it may be one where Dad is pulling the strings. We know how those usually work out. Devante Borque is a name that comes to mind.

It is a shame when fathers try to play agent for their sons. No one is those situations.

(Underlined, italicized and bolded so as to hold his interest long enough)

It's all pretty cut and paste. :)

When I learned of his interest I read some of his stories on various sites and in most his father does the talking. It is what it is.

Also...

He isn't Rocky Reid :(

this kid is outstanding! And he looks like he has been in a college weight room for years. Looks like he would ready to start day one.

I personally would love to get this RB! Reid and Bussey would be a steal!

Film looks very good. IF the staff is set on taking 3 RBs, this kid would not be a bad choice at all. Bowling ball type RB with great speed. Kid looks legit.

Of course I would not take a 3rd RB though. :)

Just because the dad is involved doesn't mean he didn't allow him to make his own decision. And it definitely doesn't mean he's going to be the next Bourque. Borque wasn't willing to put in the work, he thought it should just be handed to him, hell he didn't even try in practice. I definitely don't get that kind of vibe from Bussey.
