Hope he calls the coaches before he commits on twitter.

I would imagine that McKenzie and Jones would be ahead of him on the DT board. He did have a UT offer very early in the 2015 recruiting process. I would not be surprised at all if the coaches took his commitment if they did not feel good about McKenzie or Jones.

I would not feel good at all about Jones. Things happen in Mississippi Juco's leading up JUCO signing day.

I agree. The longer his recruitment plays out, the more likely it is that the Miss Juco handlers "help" him make his decision. I don't like our chances at all. Hopefully CBJ learns sending kids that direction is in no way a good thing for UT.

I believe he already said he will be deciding in the days leading up to JUCO signing day. Tells me all I need to know. I'm sure we will compete for him, but I deff wouldn't pass up other DT opportunities.

"Howard took a lot of reps during the one-on-one session and certainly grabbed everyone's attention with some big wins. He has a lot of natural athleticism and is still working on developing better technique. Howard's quickness and strength caught a lot of linemen off guard and he won the majority of his reps.

One thing Howard did very well is use his leverage to his advantage. When he was able to combine that leverage with his quickness and strength, he often won the rep."

I know we are in on better DT prospects but according to 247 he is still a heavy lean to UT right now

I believe he is good friends with Jerome Dews. Not sure but I know they are from around the same area. He really likes us I know, but we have McKenzie, Tuttle, Settle, Jones and others we are in on.

IMO he is UT's if they want him. I believe we would have to miss on a couple others before that happens. I do think the kid could play and see significant reps as a Vol.

McKenzie, Tuttle, Settle, Sterling Johnson, DJ Jones, Darvin Taylor, and Quentez Johnson are all ahead of him I would think. I would hope we wouldn't take him at this point.

My guess would be:

1.McKenzie
2.Jones
3.S. Johnson
4.Howard

In that order of realistic candidates and IMO we end up with McKenzie and Johnson. Very good DT class w/only taking 2.

I just don't think we are favored much with the rest of them. I feel they end up elsewhere.

I wish we had more room in this class. It sounds like Howard is starting to impress. I'll be happy with Johnson and McKenzie though.

I think we will take 3-4 DT's.

Why, is there a limit or something?

IMO, yes there is.

Kind of like the OL situation. 2 weeks ago people laughed at the thought of passing on Harrell. Now it looks like limited spots and having needs at other positions pushed him to the back burner for UT and doing so he committed to au. I would guess the coaches have a # in mind they can use for any given position with a small class this year. With the DL class in 2014, I doubt they use more than 5 spots total for the DL in 2015(2DT/3DE).
