Now it looks like limited spots and having needs at other positions pushed him to the back burner for UT and doing so he committed to au. I would guess the coaches have a # in mind they can use for any given position with a small class this year. With the DL class in 2014, I doubt they use more than 5 spots total for the DL in 2015(2DT/3DE).

Purely hypothetical...and way too logical for VN...but assuming that the coaches passed on Harrell (as speculated), would it be due to Mosley and/or Robertson possibly being moved to the OL (also speculated, iirc)?

In that case, 3-4 DT's would be plausible.

Just saying................

There would be a lot of scenarios where 3-4 DTs could be taken. It all comes down to other positions and the staff willing to come up short there to take more DTs. My list only had 3 OL spots(Jones, Stewart, Richmond), and 2 DT spots. Harrell never really figured into it.

Probably just a situation where UT was his best offer and they figured he would commit. They just did not factor in the "offer" was contingent on a lot of things not going UTs way with other DTs. I figured he would be in play had we missed on several other options. Maryland is a good spot for him. Close to home does not hurt.
