I think we did early on and would have loved to have gotten him, but yeah, it does seem that we backed off the last several months because of factors having nothing to do with his talent and potential as a football player.

Yep, that was Waco (TheWacoKid or something close to that) alright. Haven't seen him around this year now that we are getting stud after stud and their class is made up of mostly 3 stars. Our programs have pretty much traded out position from when he used to come here and give us back handed compliments. Pretty funny. Just wish I knew which gator board he posted on, so I could make a SN like "Waco'sDaddy" or something of the sort and go troll him....oh well.

I think pursuing Allen may have hurt us with Richmond who apparently was the #1 OT on our board. At least that's what I believe the coaches thought.

And on McGraw I feel we wanted him right up until Devinner was associated with the guy. Butch is not a guy to concede any recruit to any school but as soon as old Byron was in the picture UT slammed on the breaks on Rico's recruitment.

I have said it before and will say it again. UT was only a back up plan for Allen due to the coaching change at UGA. There was a period of time leading up to that when Allen would not even return calls to our staff due to the fact that they were slow playing him when he was interested in committing to UT last summer and fall. He did contact UT when he found out that Friend was leaving UGA so he could have options in case he did not feel good about the OL coach. We did not turn this kid away but slowed on him at the end when he kept talking with UGA and we started getting the love from Richmond.

It worked out the way it was supposed to. I'll take the 2 top 10 OTs we got over what any other team ended up with.
