Offensive tackle Pat Allen was set to make an announcement for Tennessee at the Semper Fi All-American Game in early January but decided to hold off and indicated to Volquest that the Vols were still the team to beat coming out of the game. But, as time went on and Georgia got back into the picture, Allen continued to delay a decision.
Once things heated up with Richmond things with Allen began to cool from a Tennessee perspective and Jones didn't even visit with Allen down the stretch essentially taking the Vols out of the race for the Maryland offensive tackle.
Yep Pat Allen is in. Dawg!!
How bout that Preston Williams kid, eh? He sure will make a good player for the red and bl...
Oh, what?! He signed with UT?! Well, booger...
Oh well, at least you guys got that RB. What's his name again? Alan... Alvin... Kamara! That's it! Wait, he signed with Tennessee too? Hmmmm.
So, the only player you actually won a battle with Tennessee for was someone who we backed off of at the last minute because we got a better player? Man... That must suck.
