I like RB Love but unlike some of you guys on here I do not think he is the most valuable RB or only RB we need in this class. I do like his speed but I for one am very skeptical about small RB's even if they are fast. DB's in the SEC are just as fast so speed makes no difference unless you can break tackles. Thats why i am pro big, tough and fast RB's.

IMO we definitly need Kamara and Reid. Both are home run hits! And if I was CBJ I would be very selective with taking anyone else. I would take Love but if Bussey wanted to commit I know for sure I would take Bussey over Love. Why? Cause Bussey is already Big, Fast, and Breaks Tackles!!!!

Look at the pictures of Bussey at the bottom of his 24/7 page. He looks like he has been in a college workout program for a year already. And that translates to him being able to start day one!

CJ Spiller as a high schooler is a good comparison to Love. Credit to Tom Lemming as he made this comparison when he listed Love as his #5 RB in the 2015 class via a video made by Lemming of his top 10 RBs in the 2015 class. I watched some highlights of Spiller from his senior season and Love this year and they are similar in size (at the same stage as Love just turned 17 and can bench press close to 2x his body weight), speed and running style.

Wait until Love's Senior film comes out as his team has started running some I formation and pistol sets that allow Love to find the hole.

-This past Friday night Bryce Love had 142 yards on 5 carries including TD runs of 72 & 58 yards
-He also had a 58 yd punt return for a TD
-This was all in the 1st half as Wake Forest led 51-6 at halftime...with Love scoring 3 TDs
-He only played the 1st half last week as well when he had 179 yards on 17 carries and 5 TDs in the 1st half
-So in the last 4 quarters (full game equivalent), he has 321 rushing yards on 22 carries (14.6 yards per carry, 7 rushing TDs and 1 punt return TD)
-His Wake Forest Team is 11-0 heading into the NC 4AA State Playoffs next week
-Love is averaging OVER 11 yards per carry on the season.


A few of his runs from this season can be found on the Wake Forest maxpreps page as well as his Hudl page. The I formation runs have come the 2nd half of this season and aren't on his Hudl page just yet.

Love just turned 17 in July and hasn't run track since age 15. Before turning 17, he ran a 4.30 laser at the SPARQ/Nike Camp in May 2014. Love is as fast as those guys were "at this same age/stage".

How many 16 year olds run a laser 4.30....and this was his 1st time really running since a groin injury essentially ended his season last year in the playoffs.

Like I said in my previous post, wait until you see his speed on his 2014/Senior film. I wish I could figure out how to link the specific video from the Wake Forest maxpreps page as he has 3-4 runs on there where he absolutely obliterates the defenders' angles.

I think this is the reason we have Bussey on hold. I think Love is ahead of Bussey on the board.

Then Love needs to hurry up and pull that trigger. I think one or two of these backs are being used as leverage to get the one that they really want to commit. We will see. Man, I love recruiting!

This is just my opinion, I know they want 2 Rbs to add to Kamara but I want Bussey or Dauphine to be one of them.

Update from Paul

First off, look for Bussey to do something after his season and right now Tennessee is clearly the team to beat.

In terms of how things unfold, I don't see a situation where Tennessee can take four running backs.

If Love wants in, it's really hard to see the Vols turning him away and something I don't think will happen if he wanted in. I don't know where that leaves Reid if that situation even occurs. It will be interesting for sure.

Love is the high school RB I've always wanted in this class. It does sound encouraging right now with him based on Paul's updates. I just hope he doesn't hold out too long to make a decision whether it is TN or Stanford. I'd hate to have TN put someone like Bussey on hold only to have Love make a late decision to go to Stanford and then you possibly lose out on both guys.

Truth be told I think the dream scenario for the coaching staff would be to add frazier and Love.

If that can't be done they would like Love and either Bussey or Dauphine.

If that can't be done they would like to add a combination of Love, Bussey, Dauphine, Reid or Vaughn.

Lot of moving pieces

I agree but with the way this is shaping up, I wouldn't be shocked if we finish with Kamara, Bussey and Love.

I agree with regard to the RB recruiting being VERY fluid right now. My guess is this will play out a few more weeks but I feel confident we will end up with three total this cycle. Right now, if I'm guessing I think Reid will not be one of them...but that is pure speculation.

That's true. I could see things possibly play out that way as well. The one constant seems to be that Bryce is the one at RB they are waiting word on before everything else falls into place.

I think the coaches are trying to figure out who is gonna run off who...

For instance, if they take Bussey right now would that scare off Love?

If they took Love right now would that scare off Dauphine?

If they took Frazier right now would that scare off everyone?

You get the picture. They want to take three and that's tricky to do.

I think the most likely is they chase Love and when they feel they have secured him they then allow Bussey to commit.

Honest answer... none of us know how the coaches would like for this to shake out, and we, as fans who follow recruiting, have very different takes on it. However it works out in the end, I feel good about our chances of signing 3 solid RB prospects.
