Per 247 article posted today:

Still plans to take all 5 OV's (one is to Tennessee) and 4 other schools.

No OV to FSU though.

Is this commonplace or am I missing something here?

He's a soft commit. Main reason he did it, other than the fact he is leaning strongly to FSU, is because it was becoming a massive distraction and he was hoping that making the verbal would get some people off his back at home. Johnny's been being asked "Where are you going?" by people who don't even know him for a year now. He's trying to enjoy his senior year, and hopefully lead Princeton to a state championship--the school has never won one in football, and hasn't even been to the championship game since 1979. Last year might have been the year, if that last touchdown Johnny scored against James Kenan hadn't been called back.

Anyway, Princeton is 4-0 so far and he's been over 100 yards in every game; 54 rushes for 496 yards so far this season. He's only played beyond halftime in two of the games, and on Thursday night, he only got 11 carries (four of them were TD runs) against an awful team that Princeton beat 54-0. On one play, they had the ball at the 6, and a bad shotgun snap went into the backfield. Johnny retrieved it at the 27, avoided about seven defenders, and turned it into a TD.

He's still being recruited, very heavily, by a number of schools including UT. But the scuttlebutt around here has died down since his announcement, which is what Johnny wanted. He's not 100 percent comfortable with people making a fuss over him. It wasn't three years ago that he was a track runner who didn't play football. Doesn't have the prima donna "star" attitude at all; his teammates love him. I'll miss covering him when he's done, hopefully after leading Princeton to the 1-AA title this December, but not half as much as the Princeton community will.

And yes, I hope Butch changes his mind and convinces him he'd look good in orange.

Good post jsc1973! Thanks for your insight! Frasier is one of the most complete and reliable backs in this class for sure. Hopefully we get better film of him this year, last year's was complete garbage. Going to be fun to watch at the next level. Could be a program changer.

Makes sense the kid seems very reserved like shy tuttle and is from a small community. all of a sudden you have people from everywhere all over you. Very exciting but can grow overwhelming and can create a lot of pressure. Hope TN has a real shot. Kids a player and we need to add him or Love is possibe. we need playmakers.

"Hearing running back Johnny Frasier is setting up an official visit for the Florida game. I don't think there will be as many official visitors in that weekend as unofficial guys. Ricky DeBerry, Pat Allen and Marques Ford as the ones that are expected in right now for official visits. The list of unofficial guys should be pretty nice as guys like Ugo Amadi and Kyle Phillips are expected in.

We will try and catch up with Frasier this week."

Callahan...

"Nothing is happening with Reid, as far as I know. And, in this case, I don't think Tennessee's involvement with Frasier is an example of the Vols really searching for another running back, although they're obviously involved with him now. UT hadn't been in contact with him for a while, and he reached out to them a few weeks ago for the first time in months, as we reported recently. Things have started to heat back up a bit since then, but it's not as if Tennessee is casting a wide net to try to find another running back.

Aside from Ke'Shawn Vaughn and Bryce Love, Frasier is the only running back we know about who's really involved with the Vols right now. That said, I do think there's a scenario in which UT could take a third RB. I definitely wouldn't assume that adding a running back would force the Vols to lose Reid or anything like that."

When we spank UGA and Florida, recruits will be tripping over each other on their way here.

yeh he could play slot but hes more of a pure rb than Love. and disagree with ryan on this one. weve always been after him. honestly id rather fraiser and love over kamara. sure i will get hammered but just my opinion.

Kamara isn't a RB I would hand the ball to twenty times a game. He's more of a do it all back. He'll add a new dimension to this team that this staff was probably hoping D. Young would do but it hasn't worked out.

With that said, I'm also a huge fan of Love. I think Reid will also be a great power addition, and I wouldn't want to see us do anything to jeopardize his commitment. I think we are on the right track now depth wise, but we have to make sure Paulk is going to be 100% next year. If not, I think a 3rd RB will probably be in order.
