'15 NC RB Johnny Frasier

I love reading a lot of the insight that you give on players in your area, but there are really good players outside of NC too lol.

I'd like to see Love and Vaughn's senior film before I make a real judgement.

Vaughn has some senior clips.. Very impressive.. Funny thing is he is rated higher on 247...

Where did you get the info on Scott? I have never seen him listed that slow in any camp or publication.

I wouldn't believe any 40 times, but Scott is a slasher, and not much of a burner... I disagree with him about Kamara...

Football Recruiting - Derrell Scott - Player Profiles - ESPN

South Carolina hosts top RB Derrell Scott this weekend - Saturday Down South

From football.com

couting Reports: Scott is the type of player Butch Jones loves to utilize. He’s quick, has faster “football speed” than his 4.55 40-time suggests, is an adept pass-catcher, has great vision, and is elusive in traffic. Here’s what scouts are saying about Scott.

“Scott is a threat to go the distance every time he touches the ball. His quick feet and great vision make him a nightmare for defenders in the open field. Scott runs well inside the tackles and on the perimeter. He shows great balance and is an instinctive runner. Scott also catches the ball well out of the backfield. Overall, he is one of the most dynamic playmakers in the country.” – Michael Clark, Scout.com

“Quick-twitched athlete who plays faster than his testing times would indicate and has very good play speed and foot quickness. Possesses just average size but is muscular with room to add bulk and strength. Has good speed, not elite, and it’s what separates him from being a top-tier back in this class. Shows strength when needed but is not a power guy….Scott has the potential to develop into an every-down college back. However, we see him developing more into a dynamic weapon with hybrid-type potential working in and out of the slot and running back position in a multi-purpose type role. Has soft hands and polished receiving skills. A skill player you want to get creative with in a spread offense and create opportunities for in space. Also has the potential to get recruited at corner and should be an asset on special teams as a cover guy and returner.”- ESPN.com

Scott has been clocked at a 4.45 and is a consistent 4.5. not a blazer but plenty fast and very shifty.

Butch said in his Press Conference that Scott may not make the travel roster to UGA. And that they want to bring him along back slowly.

I wonder if they are going to try to redshirt him now, since their redshirt RB (Paulk) has been dismissed...if that's possible and our main 2 can stay healthy.

That would make the most sense to me at this point. Lane or Hurd get banged up and Scott could easily have the RS pulled off. As long as he is getting reps in practice, he would be ready if called upon.

FYP

I get the love but no reason to play him if hes not needed. Let him heal and be ready for next season.

I'm not trying to argue, but it's not like our running game is at a level where a versatile, potentially explosive running back is "not needed."
