Abernathy is a 5th year senior and he is a return speciist. Problem I see is that we only have one back that has been in Jones' system and that is only for one year.

Imo Bussey took reid's spot and the staff must feel pretty confident about another rb joining the team before NSD

This one just doesn't sit well with me. Reid got beat up a bit on this board as other 2015 RB's came into the picture and he toughed out a very public, potentially embarassing, process with class.

I'm sure there are more gifted backs but I always liked what I saw/heard about Reid:

Committed early.
Appeared to absolutely love the Vols.
Worked his @ss off as a senior and played his way into the No. Carolina record books.
Team first guy from what has been said.

These character qualities go a long way in making up for a slightly slower 40 time or a few inches on one's verticle leap.

I'm proud of the team that UT has and the team that will be coming in next year. I wish Rocky Reid was a part of it.

Good luck to the kid. I hope he does well wherever he lands, and I hope he understands that the scum on Twitter doesn't reflect the thoughts and feelings of the majority of VolNation.

Class act the way he handled this. I think he knows the twidiots aren't representative of VolNation as a whole. Best of luck wherever he ends up. I'll be pulling for him as long as he isn't playing against us. He'll be a good one IMO.

I love how people trash twitter. Some dumbass sitting in his basement bashing recruits and let's blame social media. Twitter is actually the best tool to get information. Everything hits twitter before any other platform. Its also the most entertaining. Check the replies to Clay Travis.

Regardless, I like the kid. I guess he felt under-valued and unappreciated on boards like this. I thought he had the talent to be a good SEC RB.

I think he would've been one of those guys to really come on as a RS Jr or something after he waited his turn. Not sure he wanted to do that or our staff wanted to use a spot on that right now. JMO

Jones must feel good about Love and that's a good scheme fit but I liked reid. I trust Butch here and wish Rocky Reid the best of luck.
