I retract part of what I said above. Butch always seems to have a plan in place and I'm sure this wasn't out of the blue when Bajakian made the job change. Butch, undoubtedly, has a guy already lined up and I expect us to hear an announcement in the next couple days.

Would Azzani wait until after NSD to leave- am I the only one who has thought that? Hate the timing on this! Don't want to lose Azzani but this is a very important decision moving forward.. Tylenol here I come lol!

Hope we hang onto him. That would be a huge jump from WR coach to HC.

If he gets promoted to OC here, he would make significantly more than CMU is paying their HC, I believe. Think I read that CMU's outgoing HC (going to be OC at Arky) was making $360K / year. Not sure what Z pulls in as the WR coach / RC.

Thought it was just Bajakian leaving.
Strange timing to announce if he is going to the NFL. QB coach at Tampa Bay seems like a downgrade or even a lateral move.

Hi ill! I am new to the RF also but it is the best!!! I will never ever go back to the FF. All the info you need with far more positivity is right here! GBO!

A lot of us go back and forth between the 2 forums.... not sure why anybody wouldn't given the diversity of information in each thread and there are knuckleheads and good guys (and gals) in both IMO. Oh well, welcome to the board either way.

Dumb question perhaps but I'm fairly new to the RF. Will the recruiting insiders have information on the direction and search for a new OC?
Basically put. Is the RF the best place to stay up to speed or is it for recruiting only?

There's no limit to the number of experts that will be more than willing to lend their expertise on any number of things Vol in this forum or the football one.:shades:

With two top recruiting classes and positive momentum into the off-season, what we need is a brilliant offensive mind to take us to the next level. I would like to think that this is CBJ's plan and that Bajakian's leaving was a mutual decision. It def wasn't a surprise. The coaching staff is tight, and IDT any of them would leave CBJ hanging.

I hope we capitalize on a great opportunity and look outside to make the best hire.

Wes Rucker's Early Hot Board.

This guy makes the most sense to me if we don't go with coach Z

Calvin Magee
Co-offensive coordinator/RB coach, Arizona
This was the first name to spring to mind on this end, and others we’ve spoken to have felt the same way. Magee, a 51-year-old New Orleans native, was the offensive coordinator at West Virginia when Jones coached receivers there earlier in his career. Magee is considered a good football coach and good recruiter, and he’s been in this part of the country in the past, and Arizona runs an offense very similar to Tennessee’s — which makes sense, since Wildcats coach Rich Rodriquez and Jones run are former co-workers and close friends. If he’s open to the move and Jones doesn’t mind poaching from a friend, Magee would be a popular hire.
