'15 OH LB Jerome Baker

I'm the biggest OSU hater of them all, the tOSU moniker is the worst thing in the world and I absolutely hate that they blow it up considering most flagship universities within a state claim the exclusive right to use it (technically UT is The University of Tennessee), but do we blow it up? Absolutely not.

Despite that, I won't fault the kid for wanting to put on for his home state school.

Yep...I find it hard to hold anything whatsoever against a kid who goes about recruiting in a good way and at the end of the day just wants to represent the home state school.

Jhova and Taylor Gang(self claimed UF insiders) say Baker will commit to Fla in 12 days.

OSU just picked up a commitment from 5* LB Justin Hilliard.....gotta help us with Baker....you would think?

Don't think so. Baker will play anywhere on the field. He could play RB or LB here and be a damn stud.

Don't think so. Baker has been set to OSU for a while. Before he bumped him commitment up to July 11 I thought we stood a decent chance. Now, without an official visit, I'd say all signs point to him being a lock to OSU - even after Hilliard (who was an OSU favorite for a while, so the commitment did not come as a surprise.) gave them his verbal.

so no chance?
There is a slim chance. It's clear he likes us as we are in his top 3 (OSU, UT, UF). However OSU gets the nod because of family/friend ties, it is close to home, & they were the first to offer so they have an advantage there, too. He's visited OSU several times compared to only 1 visit each for Tennessee & Florida. It looks like a done deal for OSU, unfortunately.

Thats the thing about recruiting. A player can like several schools but can only pick one. I have no doubt Baker loves Tennessee but the Ohio State pull is too much to overcome here.

Now would be a great time for Vol74 or Matt to pull one of their nuclear bomb drive-bys in this thread, although it's unlikely. Talk about the peanut gang going crazy.
