"Just talked to Jerome Baker...

He said his visit was 'amazing,' used the word 'spectacular.'

He said it was one of the best visits he has had. He said he will definitely be back to Tennessee for an official visit.

I'll have the full story up later tonight, but safe to say the Vols made a big impression on the No. 28 player in the country."

Nice...now that's some great news to hear on a slow day. Baker would be a HUGE pickup...very elite.

“I thought they fit all of that very well,” Baker told InsideTennessee. “They have all of what I’m looking for, for real. Everyone handled themselves very well. They answered all the questions I had and it was just great. It was a great experience.”


“I can honestly say I can see myself playing at Tennessee,” Baker said.

“I had an amazing time. The people are amazing. The players are amazing,” Baker said. The coaches are amazing. Overall, I just had a really great time. It really went well. It was a real good time. I like Tennessee.”

“I learned a lot. I learned that they’re a very young team and you have the chance to play there. It’s a school of opportunities,” Baker told IT. “They’re not focused on seniority there. If you’re a freshman and you’re good, you’ll play. I like that a lot. They’re going in the right direction, too. They have some good talent.”

Sounds great! I would like to see if he's one of those guys that just gets hyped up after a visit or if we really did blow him out of the water.

"It definitely surprised me. I wasn't expecting anything this spectacular. The people are amazing. It caught me all off guard and it was just the icing on the cake," Baker said. "It was great. Going into it, I wasn't expecting it to be spectacular or anything but leaving, it was probably one of the best trips I've been on. It was a great university."

"It was just overall; the university had everything I was looking for. They answered every question," Baker said. "They had everything. The facilities were top of the line, the tradition is amazing, the coaching staff was full of energy and they just had so much stuff that fit me, it was just amazing to see them."

"When we first arrived we took a tour of the academic part of the school and the buildings and the labs and went into a classroom and then we went and had a tour of the football facilities," Baker said. "Then we went to the stadium and I got to try on the uniforms and everything and then we had dinner and then I got to spend the rest of the night with the players."

"Coach Thig, I can honestly see myself playing for him," Baker explained. "He's completely honest and down to earth and he tells me how he's not going to sugarcoat anything and that's something important in a coach and great to see." "Coach Jones is a great football coach and he really cares about his whole team and the overall coaching staff was just full of energy and they cared and they're excited and that was so amazing to see," Baker said.

Wow! I hate to get too excited and then let down, but that might be some of the most positive, exuberant quotes that I have ever read from an uncommitted prospect. I'm tempted to say that we lead.
