'15 P Tommy Townsend (UT Signee 2/4/15)

I was just being a dumbarse, OldVol name and talking about the kicker back in the day. I really don't mind, your wisdom is appreciated.

No problem. When I was about 30 I considered people that were my current age as being "old", now I look at people that are 90+ as being old! I'm very fortunate to have lived this long so I'm happy about still being here.

As some others have said in this thread, some people under-appreciate what a really good punter can contribute to a team. Look at how many times in one game Palardy pinned SC deep last year. I'm happy with this pick-up.

I wonder if he is kin to former kicker Ricky Townsend who kicked for UT back in the early 70's? :hi:

I have had 3 patients that are 100+

Unless you have reached triple digits, in my book you are just getting older. :hi:

He's got Butch Jones on speed dial. That's the only contact you need. :)

That's the only contact we care about but Wilhoit is VERY connected. He got a kid a job in Arena League in Tampa just by calling someone. There was a long snapper that Wilhoit got a partial scholarship at Oklahoma.

He had something like 6/12 top kickers in the nation that he was training last year. Schools are seeking him out.

Hypothetically speaking, if Jr could not kick at UT (scholly or walk on) would you/him rather stay in the SEC or go to a school out of conference?

EDIT because I sure would hate to have to watch my son play against UT. Don't think I could take that.

Out of SEC

He averaged about 39 yards per punt last season.

Brother Johnny Townsend was named to the SEC's All-Freshman team after taking over the Gators punting duties midway through last season, and Tommy says expects similar results for himself.

"I'm going to say yes, I definitely think so. I just need to put a lot of hard work in," Tommy said. "It's hard to have an incredible amount of success in the punting game when you don't get to work on it as much as you would like.

"Since I play safety, all of my practices are centered around that, so I have to just go out and punt on my own after practice, so I think being only a punter in college I will definitely be able to master it during my time at Tennessee."

He had already graduated HS and it has to be the same guy. He told Jr that he hoped to land at MTSU.

Freaking monster. The only people in the stands were parents of campers and we were all saying "someone get Butch out here to see this".

You get his name?

That episode makes your giney tingle doesn't it?
