You've managed to annoy me twice in 5 minutes. I'm sure I'm not alone in this fact.

Just realized I never BOOMED in this thread. So, this BOOM is brought to you by the letter W (for Wilhoit), the number 25.......and Bogdan Stoica's horrible decision to try a flying knee against Wayne Barrett.

The importance of having good special teams cannot be overstated. Last season, Palardy punted very well, and being able to flip the field, especially with inferior talent, is huge. You have to be able to get points when they matter, and you have to be able to flip the field. Look at Wing for LSU the past couple of seasons. Their defense started with him. He was able to lock offenses within their own 20 every time he punted.

Just my two cents.

It's been awhile since I've seen the stat, but I believe that only 20% of drives starting on or inside the 20 result in points.

So that is a major advantage.

Couldn't be any more right. Special teams is 1/3 of the game.

With Townsend punting, Medley kicking, and Lovingood snapping, our special teams can be just that. We should really appreciate the caliber of specialists CBJ is bringing in.
