just spoke to his dad...
he loved the university and the coaches.. his dad sent me a pic of him and Butch...
anyway... reason we were tied with Bama is kid grew up a bama fan and always wanted to play there.
UT now leads.... his dad said his exact words were when he came home: "I'm going there to school."
So when is he planning on committing? (to UT :))

If he is as good as advertised, Saban will not let go easily.

I would think an offer would be satans 1st move. If after a bama and or au offer the kid still says we lead, we have a shot. Might be a situation where the AL schools slow playing a kid helps us. bama has offered (5) 2015 RBs thus far and au has offered (7).

Let's get Mixon and this kid along with a couple other RB prospects for '14 and '15.

I was just throwing that out there. How nice would that be?

Only RB options we still have for the 2014 class IMO would be Judd if he flipped, Hill out of Juco, or maybe James. Very likely we are done at RB as spots are limited. I think we take (2) in 2015 and we are already in on several top kids.

Not doubting that, just doing a little day dreaming i guess you could say, about one hell of a RB haul like that. We would be unstoppable in '16 with elite backs like that sharing carries.

Road Report Part 2: Top CB Marlon Humphrey cuts list

PINSON, Ala. - A few weeks ago, running back Nick Gibson (Pinson Ala./Pinson Valley) says he could see what he wanted to do before each snap. While he did not realize it at the time, the 5-11, 194-pound junior was on his way to one of the most dominating rushing performances in Alabama history, rushing 34 times for 464 yards and six touchdowns. His coach is pretty sure he leads the state in rushing through five games, with about 920 yards.

Tennessee, Kentucky, Florida State, Mississippi State and Arkansas have offered. Georgia, Clemson, Oregon, Vanderbilt, Cincinnati are among the schools that have shown interest in him this season. The old staff at Auburn offered Gibson, with Tommy Thigpen extending the offer again from Tennessee. When interviewed, Gibson was sporting an Alabama shirt, a program he grew up following.

“Alabama is telling me to keep working hard and that they are interested in me,” Gibson said. “They want me to come out to their camp and get to know the coaching staff. An offer would mean a lot, but I would not just go there because I am a fan, which I am a big Alabama fan. I would explore all of my options.”

The new staff at Auburn is evaluating Gibson.

“I like Auburn too,” Gibson said. “I definitely like the new running back coach Tim Horton and I like the school too. I think they would be a good fit and if I went up there I could help turn the program around. An offer would also give me a chance to stay in-state near my family as well.”

Another SEC program currently leads for Gibson.

“The team I am favoring the most is Tennessee,” Gibson said. “They have really nice facilities, the coaches are cool and I like it there.”

Going to see him play in the week or two. Going to look at the rest of Gavin Bruant's schedule so I can see him as well.

"Gibson favors a pair of SEC schools and likes Mississippi State and Tennessee. He talked of his interest in the Volunteers.

"I went to Tennessee during the summer," he said. "I like the facilities, their staff, coaches, players and the academic program."

The 6-foot, 193-pound prospect rushed for 2,205 yards this season on 293 carries with 27 touchdowns. He added 25 receptions for 396 yards and three touchdowns."

Bama offered February 1 when he was at their junior day. Surprised he hasn't committed.

Pretty good sign, IMO. He still probably will end up there if Bama really wants him.

Yup. In a Miss St rivals article on 2/10 he said Bama and Miss St are "at the top". Didn't mention UT in the article.

Maybe UT staff makes a push this weekend and shows him he's wanted and needed at UT and the Vols will be back on top.
