Pinson Valley (Ala.) four-star running back Nick Gibson is a hot name among SEC schools this season as he's emerged as one of the top running backs in the southeast. Earlier this month, he had a chance to prove that in Birmingham as the Rivals Camp Series made a stop and he was named the MVP of the group.
"I'm honored," Gibson said of the MVP selection. "It was a good opportunity to show everybody in the state of Alabama that I'm the best running back and I could just come out and compete. I feel like I bring speed, power, agility and strength and I'm smart, too."
"At Alabama, I got a chance to see the facilities for like the third time. I got to meet all of the players and talk to Nick Saban who offered me the same day that I was up there," Gibson said. "At Mississippi State I got to talk to the head coach and get to know the players. I saw their facilities, too."
"Mississippi State is one of my top three schools that I'm interested in. The coaches and everything is cool. It's really like a family up there," Gibson said of the Bulldogs. "(Collins) is a cool guy. Very open and crazy, but a cool guy." "I'll say them and Bama and Tennessee are my top three," Gibson said. "Tennessee's facilities, coaches and the fact that my dad went to Tennessee keeps them in my top five. I want to stay close to home."
