'15 SC QB Kelly Bryant

His throwing motion looks pretty long. Arm didn't impress me that much as far as zip. Accuracy looked good, but it's a highlight reel so I throw that out the window without better context. His idea of a checkdown looks to be taking off with the ball, which isn't a bad option it looked like. He's pretty shifty for a guy that big with good speed. Anyone know about the quality of competition he plays against?

Thanks!

Give this guy a couple years to learn and you've got something, IMO.

His arm's good enough and he's a great scrambler.

This guy, Gentry, or Francois and I'm a happy camper.

Personally I'm not impressed by his film as a quarterback. Arm strength appears to be more then suspect to me. Maybe it will improve some but if he's 6'4" 200 now it's probably not going to get much better. Just don't see an SEC arm there. I think some of his offers may be coming as an athlete instead of QB.

Arm strength is definitely there. Look through his individual game highlights.

He's a QB, all the way.

You may be right. I'm no expert by any means. When I look at film I want to see something that jumps out as being special. I see a good high school quarterback but I don't see anything about his game that I would consider to be elite. Maybe I'm expecting to much.

Difference of opinion. No problem.

I think he compensates with his athleticism.

A Clemson friend of mine just told me that their Rivals mods are saying UT's staff is the best group of recruiters in the entire Southeast. They want Dooley back baaaaaadly.

Need more stories like this

SC high school football is pretty good and Wren is 4A (biggest in SC) - but dont think that region is on the same level as some of the top SC high schools like Northwestern (where worley went)

Has a funny release. May not be a big deal but was just something I noticed.

He drops his front shoulder when he throws. It's no big deal, but it's a mechanical thing that will need to be tweaked at the next level.

Just a little unorthodox.

New article up on Bryant over on Clemson Rivals...UF and VT offered recently. Ole Miss, UNC, Clemson and others have also offered but this article makes it seem like he really wants a UT offer, that's the one he's looking for. UT has requested more film of him recently and have yet to offer. He's cousins of Martavis Bryant, former Clemson WR, and seems to have a great relationship with that school. They offered over 2 years ago.

He says UT is on the rise, he likes Butch Jones and the SEC, he's really excited to visit UT this weekend and see what the campus, facilities and coaches are like. Also said he's tired of the recruiting process and wants to make a decision this spring.

Sounds like if our staff rolls out the red carpet and gives him an offer, he'll be a Vol very soon. With Clemson landing 5star D. Watson in '14 and UT not taking any QB's that seems to be a big factor. Clemson folks will lose their minds if UT comes in, offers now, and gets a commitment. I would enjoy that.

It would be nice to go ahead and get a solid QB on board for this class. Hopefully, we will still get Gentry or Stidman and we will be looking great!

I'd honestly take either. If this kid wants to be a Vol, I say make it happen...

I liked his film. I won't judge his arm strength from the film as HS kids would be more likely to drop it if he put too much heat on it. He seemed to stay behind the LOS for as long as possible to try and find an open man. I'm with you that I'd take whoever wants to be a Vol.

This one is a take if they miss on Gentry or miss on another elite or plan to take two IMO. More of a project RS. He is a QB. Really good athleticism, footwork, and has all of the throws, which means he thinks right when making the throw. Does not have a rocket arm, needs some work on his delivery as TCV stated, and makes the occasional dumb HS throw that will get picked at the next level. Will have to be coached up on doing his reads since he looks to his primary and if not open takes off.

Rivals has him rated correctly IMO. With another season to work on things may improve more. Would be better as an EE.

Yes, he's scheduled to be in this weekend. I don't know if they would lead with an offer or not as he has several like Clemson, Florida, Ole Miss, South Carolina, that are going to have a say. But, the Vols would be in the mix if they did offer. I don't know if one will be made, though.

I saw him at the Under Armour combine earlier this year and liked his game. He was the best quarterback down there, but it wasn't a loaded field. Should be seeing him again later this month at the Rivals Camp top in Charlotte.
