VandyNation? Lol. They don't have enough fans to say they are a nation. :eek:lol:

Oh yeah and many thanks to GFW and Notorious for all the good updates. I got caught with a matter of minutes. :hi:

Remember the US Army slgan: An Army Of One...

vandy's nation concept is exactly this.
A vandy nation of one
A continent of 3
A world of 6
If they can reach double digits, they'll be called the vandy universe
:)

I'd say they're not an independent city-state.

Probably closer to VandyVassalage. They may as well just swear an oath fealty to us, and we'll continue to let them exist, which seems to be about all their football team does anyway.

You seen him close on QBs? His burst is crazy for a dude his size.

Chris Weathered is another Barkavius Mingo, except he's more physical.

His length gives interior lineman trouble, even.

He's a missile when their is even the smallest opening to get to the QB.

Very good player, who's best days are ahead of him. He'll get drafter by some time in the 4 or 5th round and have a long long NFL career.

We'll know more in fall camp. At minimum he will be a decent MLB but probably he will be a step above serviceable. IMO DKjr takes over MLB by game four and Bates moves to his more natural LB position and tears it up. Talent everywhere

Thanks man.

My take after reading some of the stuff in here and on other sights is:

Possible Immidiate Impact to start season
1. Alvin Kamara-Biggest impact because of experiance, EE, skill, and depth at RB
2. Kahlil McKenzie-Wont start game 1 but will take as many snaps, brings size we dont have, will maybe have most knoweldge of the game of guys coming in.
3. Shy Tuttle-Will provide depth from day 1, also brings size, huge he EEd. Because of him and Mac we might have a 5 man DT rotation compared to 3 last year.
4. Justin Martin-I know hes light but so was Moseley, will be the #4 CB to start the season and play alot
5. Darrell Taylor- If he is about 240 by start of season he will play alot of situational ball and will give us a 5 or 6 man DE rotation
6. Austin Smith-Seems to be the rave of the summer. LB is a hard position to learn, but think he'll do what Weatherd does currently.

Special Teams/Will help 5 or 6 games into the season
1. Drew Richmond-Will take some time to get used to speed, but if we have an OT go down, I think he'd be the one to step in at LT cause Kerb would move over.
2. Micah Abernathy-Will play on ST, and will give us depth about half way through the season.
3. Quarte Sapp-Cortez Mcdowell of this year and JRM of the year before. Will dominate on special teams all year long, but I dont know that he'll really play all that much on defense with our depth at OLB.
4. Darrin Kirkland-I didnt put him in the first group because of injury and we have about 5 MLBs he's competing with. I think theyll all play somewhat situationally to start the year in hopes that a guy takes the spot by Georgia. JRM will call plays.
5. Stephen Griffin- Will play on Special Teams, might get some PT on defense late in year.
6. Preston Williams-Injury scares me, but obviously freaky athletic. With Von maybe gone, I think PW will step in after the bye week and help for the rest of the year.
7. Kyle Phillips-Would have him in first group, but hasnt been healthy since JR year. Itll take him some more time to get aclimated to the game again.
8. Tommy Townsend-Obvously ST
9. Vincent Perry-STs, then could be like Vic was late in the year last year and get some snaps against vandy or a bowl game.
10. Jack Jones-He EEd which puts him in the group otherwise I might have him in the group below. Its nothing against him, its just I think that he would have Kendrick, Thomas, and Kyler ahead of him to start season.

Possible RS Canidites
1. Chance Hall-Hasnt played much OL, coming off injury, and depth at OG, which he is, is better than OT.
2. Kyle Oliver-Not much FB under his belt, played WR when he did play. Gonna need to get up to about 240-245 and learn to in-line block. Plus has Wolf, Ellis, and Branisil and maybe Creamer ahead of him.
3. Zach Stewert-What a VFL for taking a blueshirt. Depth at OG is Jackson, Robertson, Weisman, Sanders, and Boulware a RS would do him good.
4. Joc Bruce- STs maybe, but more likely RS.
5. Darrell Miller- Depth at CB is about 6 or 7 deep, I bet the coaches would like to RS someone.
6. Andrew Butcher-With the injury I think he RS's. With Barrnett, Maggitt, Vereen, Lewis, Mixon, Taylor, Phillips, and Weatherd at times, why not just make sure you get 4 years of 100% out of this guy.

SIAP but what is Smith natural posistion? Sapp is OLB, Kirkland is MLB and from what I have read Smith showed up physically impressive, no utknate, just wondering if he is a OLB or MLB?

It should be interesting. We tend to forget about him with so many people stepping up just like we forget Vereen. A healthy Vereen will be interesting to see as well. I saw Weatherd pic the other day and he looks to be taking full advantage of a full offseason in strength program. It is ridiculous what our defense could be like this year

Exactly what I was thinking. Will likely end up being one of the Vols that have a better pro career than college.

Anything new guys? Saw my sleeper of all sleepers D Taylor is showin that freakishness I predicted he would!

Think quite a few tabbed him as a monster early.

Jevon Kearse was a rangy, but physical safety coming out of Fort Meyers back in the day.

he was 6'4" about 218, and ran a 4.55.

By the time he left Florida he was 265 lbs and ran a 4.41
and was monster edge player.
I think Taylor has that ability.

The skill level in this class is the best I have ever seen from a UT class. EVER.
Taylor, K-Mac, Tuttle , Kirkland, Williams, Phillips, Richmond, Martin, Kamara, Dormady... imo are all top 100 guys.

Sapp is close as well.
Then you got guys like Kelly and Joe Young who are two very good prospects and were basically the cherry on top of an already stacked class. These two RB's are very good.

Every player is either very athletic or highly valuable in some aspect of the game.
