"It was about a month and a half ago that we started to play around with it," Jennings said. "We looked into it and we were able to do it so I said let's go. I had a lot of work to get done. I'm actually taking 11 classes right now. It's a bunch and a load. I took my laptop to (Tennessee Tech for the All-Star game) and I'm down there working hard while others are going out and playing Playstation and Xbox. I was in my room till three o'clock in the morning and then waking up at eight. It's just perseverance."
"The environment is awesome," Jennings said. "Everyone just showed me a great time. It's easy to build relationships there and just talking to the coaches and learning about them and where they are from and what their likes and dislikes are. It's just easy. Knowing you are going to be there for the next four years with them and your teammates. If you can't have that type of relationship off the field, then how can you expect to have that kind on the field. They really preach that.""I expect to compete," Jennings said. "I expect to start. If you don't then what kind of player are you? I was recruited to be there for a reason. You have to be good at what you do. That's what I do is compete and work hard. I expect to go in and earn my position."
"Definitely my feet and my progressions," Jennings said. "Last year I was going off basic instinct and just find the open man. Now I'm going through my reads and learning how to play the position. I'm reading a lot more and understanding the game very well. Just trusting the system and playing within the system and myself."
"I cannot wait," Jennings said. "The high school career is over. It seemed like it went by so fast. I'm going to miss my teammates. It's going to hurt that I won't be with my brothers anymore walking through the hallways. I will have new brothers at Tennessee, but one of my main goals is to stay in contact with my high school teammates and keep that bond we forged at Blackman."
Win in Rome...I hole-hardedly agree, but allow me to play doubles advocate here for a moment. For all intensive purposes I think you are wrong. In an age where false morals are a diamond dozen, true virtues are a blessing in the skies. We often put our false morality on a petal stool like a bunch of pre-Madonnas, but you all seem to be taking something very valuable for granite. So I ask of you to mustard up all the strength you can because it is a doggy dog world out there. Although there is some merit to what you are saying it seems like you have a huge ship on your shoulder. In your argument you seem to throw everything in but the kids Nsync, and even though you are having a feel day with this I am here to bring you back into reality. I have a sick sense when it comes to these types of things. It is almost spooky, because I cannot turn a blonde eye to these glaring flaws in your rhetoric. I have zero taller ants when it comes to people spouting out hate in the name of moral righteousness. You just need to remember what comes around is all around, and when supply and command fails you will be the first to go. Make my words, when you get down to brass stacks it doesn't take rocket appliances to get two birds stoned at once. It's clear who makes the pants in this relationship, and sometimes you just have to swallow your prize and accept the facts. You might have to come to this conclusion through denial and error but I swear on my mother's mating name that when you put the petal to the medal you will pass with flying carpets like its a peach of cake.
This guy is my favorite in the whole class by a mile. I want this man to be our QB from day 1. Goes about his business and doesn't complain. He will lead us back. Not a TX kid and not a FL/CA kid.
The last two sentences in this post are ignorant. Other than it being your opinion, how can you make such a bold statement when you have no idea? Jones is the more complete package of all three, and if the coaches felt the same way you do we wouldn't be taking 3 in this class.
He's a QB. All the coaches on this site have no say in what position a player plays.Looking for info on Jennings potentially moving to safety. Or is this just more VN prognostication, a la Phillips going to LSU/Ole Miss, and Carl Lawson being a lock?
Regardless, it seems odd to me that a guy who was originally classified in recruiting as an athlete who then earned the title of quarterback because of his tremendous improvement in passing would then go play defense.
I actually think Jennings has the inside track to be the QB of the future, but we'll see.
