I agree with what you are saying. One thing I noticed, a number of his "jump balls" would be picks in the SEC. I like his mobility, which is something that has lacked at UT for a while. Competition at the QB position is a GOOD THING. Recruit the best players at the position as possible and let them duke it out. May the best man win.

I don't think anyone is saying that he can't play quarterback. I think you have to give him a chance to develop at quarterback, for sure with the type of athleticism he shows and the basic tools.

But right now, he's a better defensive back or linebacker prospect than quarterback because he has work to do.

The good thing about a guy like Jauan is that he has a really high ceiling at several positions, but a coaching staff and Jauan are probably going to have to be patient for him to turn into an SEC quarterback.

Depends. IF the staff feels confident in what they have with Dobbs/Ferguson, the QB/s they land in 2015 may not see much action anyway. Of course you want quality depth(injuries &w/e), but It's not hard for me seeing a scenario play out where if Ferguson takes the job in 2015, he plays 2015, 2016, and 2017. Say they land Kendall in 2016. He could very well take over in 2018. I'm sure if the staff could land a top 10 type QB in 2015, they will. If they decided to roll with just taking Jennings at QB, I'm fine with it. Save the other spot for another position.

Yes, I know that is all a long way off, but not hard to see playing out.

Anyone else excited that this kid is committing to UT tomorrow?! Consensus 4 star, offers from Bama, Auburn, OSU, UT and many others, 247 has him as the 80th best player in the nation and #1 player in the state of Tennessee.

I feel like there needs to be more excitement over his commitment...pre-booms?

Getting Jennings commit, regardless of where he plays, is big for the perception of the program. At least as far as 247 is concerned, Butch would be 2-0 at signing the top rated player in TN, something we have to do every year to be competitive. Plus getting a player from the Blackman/ Middle TN pipeline always helps
