'15 TN ATH Jauan Jennings (UT commit 4/7/14)

Jauan Jennings' spring film has been added to his 247Sports profile. The film is exclusively of Jennings playing quarterback.

A spring commitment to Tennessee, Jennings is considered by many as an athlete due to his ability to play quarterback, wide receiver, safety or even linebacker in college. But Jennings has his heart set on quarterback and Tennessee has told him that he'll have the opportunity to compete there.

While Jennings still has enormous upside at other positions, it is increasingly hard to ignore his steady improvement as a passer. His spring film shows improved footwork, a quick release and a strong arm from the pocket.

Yeah he's working on his game. Still looks like he needs some more zip on some passes and I'm still not sure his footwork is great, but that film was definitely impressive..

He will improve a bunch over the summer.

When you compare film from his Jr and Senior season, he will look totally different.

If it comes down to JJ being our only QB for '15 I'm more than OK with it. BUT if TG or one of the other guys wanna jump on board I'm definitely gonna be more than OK with that as well...

I don't really care if TG or Oskie is on board. :)

Yea its crazy, it makes you guestion the judgement of some of these recruiting sites. Jennings "was", on Blackmans Track team but then every one saw how slow he really was. Hope he stays at QB. He ran in two meets and one of those he came in last. For instance if you look around the country at the top football prospects right now, there all running in their perspective state track meets. I'll tell you one guy that I'm really upset that we missed on, and thats Nick Chubb. Went 10.79 100m in Prelims and 22.1 in 200m. We better get our secondary tackling real soon. All 2014 Georgia running backs were track stars.

If by "was" you mean still running track and participating in the State track meet this week, then yeah, he "was" on the track team.

"Everyone saw how slow he was" :eek:lol::loco::eek:lol:

I still want to know what this kid did to you for you to try to trash him at every opportunity. Did he beat your team, steal your girlfriend....maybe both?

Yeah his name isn't Vic Wharton so lion pride thinks he's slow.

Speed is good!! Arm and accuracy is his problem. Plus SEC speed is much better than Smyrna. Check the stats bro...better suited at safety.

We're probably better off waiting to see how much he improves his senior season before coming to that conclusion.

His ceiling is definitely high at safety. It might be pretty high at QB as well.

If the coaches think he can play QB, then let the kid play QB. He'll be in a position to redshirt and learn for a few seasons before playing and he'd likely be behind one of either TK, McDowell, or Gaulden at safety anyway, so why not try it if he shows the potential?

If he was taken as a QB(which I think he was), have to think he will have at least a couple years to see if he can be an SEC level QB. Maybe he ends up at S, but IMO calling him that now just does not make sense. I was a bit surprised when he committed as I did not think the coaches were going to take him as a QB. Now that they did, gotta roll with it.
