'15 TN ATH Jauan Jennings (UT commit 4/7/14)

If by "was" you mean still running track and participating in the State track meet this week, then yeah, he "was" on the track team.

"Everyone saw how slow he was" :eek:lol::loco::eek:lol:

I still want to know what this kid did to you for you to try to trash him at every opportunity. Did he beat your team, steal your girlfriend....maybe both?

He did steal my girlfriend, im steal a little upset about that too.

Hard to believe he's not in their 250. His athleticism alone should make him a lock. He's an elite athlete for someone of his size and frame. No question about it.

Yep, and there's 3 more Tennessee kids ahead of him that aren't in the 250. Having him as the 11th best in the state (9th best in Middle Tn alone), is unreal. Anybody that says these rankings are not political is severely kidding themselves.

Going to Gruden camp at Tennessee in June.

Hoover 7v7 after that.

This guy is getting better and better every week. I'm excited to see him develop his senior year.

Yea the Hoover 7v7 is national tournament. 16 teams get invited, 16 have to win themselves in through tournament play. Blackman got the invite

I pay less attention to stars and rankings and more attention to what school is recruiting a player. Jennings list of suitors is more than impressive.

I hope this young man becomes 'the man" here. It would be nice to see an instate kid lead us back to prominence. Nothing against T. Gibson, but, I hope this is our QB.

I agree with you, 77. I hope we pick up as much talent as possible that gives us the best opportunity to win, but ultimately, I'd love to see an instate player ball out and win the job.

I do, too. Jennings loves Tennessee and I hope he puts it all together and becomes a great UT quarterback.

Does anyone else read his name as "Juan" I can't get past it. Silly i know.

I switched from looking at *s and rankings to offer lists last year. After seeing the UT "offers" to kids they would likely never actually take, I just go with the film now. I may just go with the magic 8 ball starting in 2015.

Not a bad way to go. I use to have one of those.

Or you could just, you know trust the coaches opinions. Just sayin :)

After watching his tape once again, I'm really feeling good about this kid. I realize, come next year, we need another QB for depth reasons, but as for finding a starter in this class...I think we already have that covered.

As much as I like Gibson and Francois, I don't think their tape is any better than Jennings. Gibson is probably a bit more athletic as a runner, but strictly as a QB, his passing game isn't quite as good as JJ.

Don't get me wrong. I'm glad this kid is coming to UT. But we need a QB who is ready to come in a fight for a starting job as a freshman. And he just doesn't isn't there yet. Unless he makes leaps and bounds this senior year, and I mean outlandish improvement. He is a kid you red shirt, and still might not be ready until junior year. That is, if he sticks at QB.

He is very athletic, but very very raw at QB. Does he have what it takes to eventually be a great QB? Sure. Is he willing to put in the work? From what I've heard, yes. But when it comes down to it, will he wait around, learning, long enough? He seems like the kind of person who would. Will we have over recruited him by then? My guess would be yes.

Lets not forget, we appearing to be trying to take another QB for 15, and 16 class looks to have some serious talent...

C'mon Man...

...stop acting like you're a coach and know how to break down his game tape and all. So damn many "experts" on VN, and most couldn't buy a clue if they just left the bank.

You don't know if he's a project or not. His passing game is noticeably better than TG, but trying to say this player is ready to start as a freshman and this one isn't...you flat out don't have a clue, hoss. Not even the coaches know until the kid is signed and going through practices. Even then, it may take a year or two to see what shakes out.
